I called the health insurance company about their f'ing up of their website logins. I got the voice-activiated phone tree. It turns out that, "Get me a fucking human" is a valid command and I was transferred to a human.

I badly need a new phone because it's acting up so much. I just missed a call just now because it never even rang, I just got a random notice that I had a voice mail despite the fact the phone was sitting right there. It's also bloody slow, even just dialing a number it locks up when I first start to dial. Overall just acting up so much.

Just don't feel like spending the money on that right now. But I think I really do need to start looking more seriously. I hate that phones are designed with such short life spans. I've had it for less than 5 years.

Wow so they're tearing out a big section of our mall. Where Sears used to be. Wolco way back in the day, then Kmart, then Walmart, then Sears. I might be missing something. Been sitting empty and they have to pay taxes on it so they'll save by tearing it out. It needs lot of repairs to be in a rentable state so it was just not worth it I guess.

Kinda sad to see but it kind of makes sense given the circumstances.

You're lucky the whole damn thing isn't closed down.

I'd say 5 years is old for a smartphone. Between drops, high usage, frequent charging and batteries that can longer hold a charge, I find a need for a new phone. Then there's also when the maker stops providing updates. I use the device so much and for so many things that I want it to be working.

You could buy used and save some money. Or you could go mid-range. I've been on flagships since smartphones became a thing. Just decide what's important for you.

Oh I think it's days are numbered. City keeps raising taxes, and they keep raising rent, and stores are slowly closing down due to it no longer being profitable. Eventually it just won't make sense for it to stay open. We have another mall down town which I think has been around even longer, but it's pretty much just Dr offices and stuff now, there's not really much shopping to be had at that place. It's too bad too, since it's actually a nice mall at least by our city's standards. It might be aged at this point but it feels almost like a mall you'd see down south. There's even an escalator in it. It does not work though.

See that's the issue, the fact that 5 years is considered long. And fact that they stop updating phones so quickly. This one has not had security updates for years. I think I only got updates for a few years and that's it. I did not even realize until recently that they did that. I still get updates through play store, I figured this was doing security updates too but it does not. It's weird how they do it with phones. I find it's so wasteful, since without ability of putting an updated OS and fact that they seem to just slow down with thme it's basically a paperweight after a while.

41k people is a town, not a city...

Might want to let them know then because this is their logo.

Actually at one point it was considered a town. Was out for a walk and noticed a sewer cover from like the 50's that said "town of Timmins". Town city, village etc it's basically a designation they can just pick, there's not really any definition.

I don't think Markham qualifies as city either and we are at 345k. No water and sewage treatment at all. It's all piped in/out.

ABC.com won't stream shows to my pc. Won't tell me why either. Think it's just scared of the PC platform in general??? Windows 7 too iffy? Or is the FF 85.0 browser naughty? (Used to stream ok with Uorigin disabled.)

Android tablet can stream ABC content. So that's what I do.
