I just sneezed, a sneeze just feels good.
More concerned about mtbf than speed for media storage drives. That frequent drive head parking on green drives kill drives. As long as you can turn it off it should be fine
I was hoping WD Reds would go on sale, I leave my machine running 24/7 and would prefer a drive with a longer warranty.
Worst case I will pick up a TB or two to hold me over for a few months.
Waiting for kofta kebob wrap nef
I figured...but decided I would inquire anyway.
I also haven't seen many good discounts on the "server" drives.
I got paid to drop some family off at the airport, promptly wasted said money on delicious junk food. I have eaten something like 2,000+ calories a day the last few days...I can't control myself. So rare that I splurge or have access to food that tastes good and/or isn't expired.
Sure it's still all cheap crap prepackaged stuff, but it's the only way I can keep it under $2/lb. It's still far better than what I can usually eat. I can't afford amazing fresh food like all you high rollers...
can't afford server drives.
When I say "server" (in quotes) I don't mean actual server drives...I just don't know how to classify drives like the WD Red series that are more made for home server. They're not normal consumer drives.
it was 4.50 plus tax...
I don't know what you got, what it looks like, or how much food there really is.
Cheapest places out here are fast food, and they average $10 a "meal". A real sit down restaurant is no less than $15 a person. I'd rather get ~7lbs of food for that money.
Since everybody loves car analogies, I'll give you something different. Imagine you're a virgin (I am), and you have a choice to make. You can have an hour with the best girl you've seen, a full 10 star. Or you can have a variety of 7 star girls for an entire week, to call on any time you wish for whatever reason.
I'm gonna go with the large variety. Now I'm sure to you high rollers my 10 star would be a cheap call girl at best...and my 7 star you'd probably look at like a nasty street hooker, but I don't know any better.
Literally the top 3 best meals I have ever had has been a slice of meatloaf, a hamburger, and at number three would likely be some pizza. As far as I recall I've never had a good fancy steak, or any kind of amazing exotic food. No I take that back, on my trip to Japan there was one place I got to go that had good food (don't know the word for it). Anyway...
I drink water 99.9% of the time. Soda is a treat, milk is a rarity, and something like fruit juice is a true once a year luxury. Even as a kid there were times we lived out of vehicles and ate out of dumpsters. I've at least got a roof over my head now, a PC and thus heat for winter, but food is still a luxury I rarely can afford.
To me, a 9.75oz bag of chips on sale for $1 is a luxury enjoyment I don't normally get. Or a 3.62 lb pumpkin pie for $6 from Costco. $2/lb or gallon is about my maximum limit, I can't spend more than that even on luxury foods.
My computer is on 24/7 also, but since I use a SSD for the OS and basic software my hard drive is usually not running.
chicken quesadilla C$7.08 plus tax
You don't have to spend a lot to eat well, just need to know where.
This one in particular looks like a horrific deal. $7 for some flour with slop in it?! I can get slop in a can free from the food bank, and flour is cheap.
not slop...
do you even know what a quesadilla is?
