Bored nef. I want to play KSP but my KVM is acting retarded. I no longer get keyboard access to my gaming machine. I don't really feel like screwing with it. I really need to figure something better. KVMs are all garbage now days. I have yet to find one that works properly 100% of the time. They are always so flaky.

My ConnectPro is bulletproof and built like a tank. Unfortunately, I bought it before I got my ultrawide monitor. It doesn't support that resolution. I want to get a 4K KVM switch when I get my next monitor, but they are so damn expensive. I contacted ConnectPro over a year ago to inquire about support for 4K and Ultrawide resolutions. I was looking for DisplayPort. They said they were coming out with an HDMI solution soon. Still not here. That's too bad. It's the best KVM I've ever had/used.

Yeah I may end up looking into a 4k one at some point as I kinda want a 4k monitor. The issue is most KVMs are PS/2 and VGA. So hard to find USB ones. This one is USB and DVI, so it probably won't do 4k.

Though I also kind of want to just setup my gaming machine with the TV. I should just need some kind of TV stand to play off of, and I'm not sure how well gaming would really work on the TV. I think I have to try it for a bit and see how it goes. I can probably also use that machine for movies, youtube etc... so much easier than fiddling with a remote with Kodi and not knowing which button to press to get certain menus etc. I find it can be awkward to use. That and Kodi puts subtitles by default which is freaking annoying.

Yeah, the ConnectPro is USB/DVI and has limited resolution. I got this model: UD-12+KIT – 2-port USB DVI KVM switch. I made an impulse buy and got an ultrawide LG monitor for a really good price. I went from 1680 x 1050 resolution to 2560 x 1080. The ConnectPro only supports up to 1920×1080. I didn't think about that until after I bought the monitor. D'oh!

When I was researching 4K KVM switches last year there were few and very expensive. Not much has changed in a year. If KVM is niche, then KVM for gaming/4K is niche-niche.

I had a four-port Linkskey KVM switch for years. It was ps/2 and vga. I replaced it with the current ConnectPro when I built the rig in my sig in early 2015.
