I have a drive dock like that too, great for doing backups.

Been meaning to revamp my whole backup solution though. I want to leverage the ability to use small drives and just span backup jobs across them, but my current solution is not that easy to do that with without manually splitting up jobs into smaller folder chunks. Basically it's just rsync scripts.
