I still cringe when I hear people say this.
They dropped the price of the phone by $200.
They increased the price of the contract by $240.
Not to mention they removed text messaging from the contract. The original iPhone contracts included 200 text messages per month; they're now charging $5 per month for it, adding another $120 to the price of the iPhone2 contract if you want to text message.

have fun
I would absolutely pay $40 more. But Apple is obviously pulling the wool over consumers eyes with their slogan: "Twice as fast. Half the price."Originally posted by: Rumpltzer

Did they add nothing to the new phone to compensate for that additional $40 over the next two years?
Let me ask it this way; would you have paid an additional $40 over two years if you could have had 3G and GPS on the first iPhone?
I understand that Apple should have included 3G in the initial release of the phone, but it's not like you're getting nothing at all for your $40.

And, although I make fun, it's a damn cool phone (tactile feedback or not).

No A2DP, no care. Seriously, it's a so-called "music phone" and they can't even do wireless music right.
Doesn't really matter, as Apple & AT&T's activation servers are down...just wait a few days.Originally posted by: Goosemaster

I don't see what makes this a "must purchase" item.
I don't see what made the Wii, PS3 and other shit people camped out for "must purchase" items either.
