Just a couple days left in January. New contest begins Feb 1
-----------
January starts a new month. The contest runs monthly. For January, I'll keep most of the categories the same. However, 1 less "general knowledge" during the week days, and weekends will be categories selected by the participants (you guys.)
So, reply to this thread with your choice of categories. (Just click on quizzes to get an idea of all the categories.) They can be general, or they can be hyper-specific. I'll look at what categories people have suggested and will use categories that seemed to be more broadly appealing.
--------
I set up a trivia game for anyone here to play & compete with everyone else here. This should add a little friendly competition to our daily routine. We've been doing this where I work for the last month or so and it's become quite competitive.
For now, I've set the categories to general knowledge (with a "harder" level of difficulty). I'll adjust this as needed, and can add in special categories that are suggested by the rest of you later.
It goes without saying, it wouldn't be too hard for the people here to cheat. I and everyone else would really prefer that you didn't, m'kay? But, I suppose if you need to cheat to win to beat the rest of us at trivia in order to feed your ego, so be it. It's not like we can't figure out who's cheating anyway.
Sign up using the same user name you use at Anandtech (so we know who's who.) My recommendation: use an email address that you use for spam (probably goes without saying). It may be a coincidence, but I went 7 years without a single spam mail until the day after I signed up at the trivia site.
Enjoy! Here's the link:
ATOT Trivia Challenge
p.s. It's timed.
