Just by looking at the responses here the following are down for a $10 buy in.
Those people are:
TangoJuliet
BudAshes
Jschmuck2
Doodoo
ric1287
Yzzim
faenix
sjwaste

I sent out some PMs to other people that have responded to the thread but didnt specify which method they would prefer to play: free or $10. If everyone above agrees to play for $10 then we have 7 teams and I have another 2 friends that said they would play as well - bringing the total up to 9 teams. I would prefer to have a minimum of 10 teams.

Edit:

If we do end up doing a pay league I would still like to have a free league perhaps make it H2H? It would all depend on how many people would still want to participate. I usually have 4-8 teams per year so I don't mind.

Well, we only got 6 people signed up for the free league. Seven people have said they would prefer to pay and I have 2 non AT friends that want to play bringing the total to 9.

Any chance we can move the draft up a little earlier or later? 5PM EST I'll be sitting on a train heading home

x2

I'll still be at work.

I can probably sneak away for a little bit if the time is unable to be changed, but just wondering since it seems that's probably not the best time for folks that work the 8-5. I'm on the west coast so...

Update: We had someone reply in the league already that said they would prefer to play for $10. So if everyone from the above list agrees then we will have 10 teams.

Sure, the draft is not set in stone. I really can't do anything past 8pm EST on Thursday and I'm going to be busy on Friday. Would Saturday work say around 5pm EST?

Edit: dabuddha are u in for free or $10?

That would work perfect for me.

Works for me as well I'll be painting the house all weekend so I'll be available.

Ok, so I just got signed up and noticed it was a rotisserie league? I thought we were doing head to head...

If its going to be for money then it'll be rotisserie. If its free then we'll go with H2H.

There are 9 people signed up so far with 2 saying they'd rather play for free. So if it goes to a pay league then we are at 7 teams with 2 (maybe 3) of my friends wanting to play.

I have about 4 more people here on AT that were interested in playing for money that have not responded to my PMs yet.

I would prefer to do head to head, too. I already lost interest in my basketball league (even though I was winning).

People lose interest in Roto much quicker - especially after 3 or 4 teams pull away.

Even with money involved roto is kind of lame. I got into one a few years ago and it wasn't as fun as the head to head. Especially when we can all talk smack to who ever we are playing for the week.

Yeah, I understand that but atleast it will be less so when money is involved. If we were playing for free I'd opt for the H2H because there is more of a chance of teams being abandoned.

Also, is there going to be a weekly moves limit to prevent streaming?

Hmm not sure. I'll have to look into the settings. There are a games limit per position (162) and max innings pitched so its a little different then football where a waiver position becomes important.

The only problem I have with H2H is that it can be a hinderance to some teams. If you have good SP then you can have a bunch of them start one week and then have none start the next week. It also gives weaker teams more of a chance to beat the better drafted teams if they get hot one week.

In football its different because there is only one game a week. Baseball is very very different in that manner where guys get occasional days off with matchups and whatnot.

I just checked there is no setting(s) for weekly moves limit - only a season limit.
