you should be able to get aloo gobi and naan at most indian restaurants. most indian restaurants are mostly punjabi cusine, which is what aloo gobi is. to get good sambar, you probably have to go to a good south indian restaurant.

nope.

i remember a show about peoples last meals. they said silly stuff like you asked is denied. it has to be reasonable. even then a lot are denied.

I think they try to refrain giving any substance to the prisoners that could interact with the cocktail of drugs they are given to kill them.


Although if it was Utah (Where some people can still choose firing-squad), I would say they should be able to order a drink of their choice.

Gary Gilmore had a couple slugs of whiskey before he went to the firing squad, although that was technically against the rules. You couldn't get away with that nowadays.

Back when the Brits still had the DP they'd offer the condemned man a drink to help steady his nerves. The French also let prisoners have cognac and a smoke before they were guillotined. Sadly that's all in the past now.

Totally depends on the state. Some are quite accommodating, others are not. Maryland doesn't offer inmates a special last meal, they get whatever crap is on the prison menu for the day. Then again we only carry out an execution every few years and will probably never have another one so that's kind of moot.

I know that Virginia only lets inmates choose from the prison meal rotation for that month, and in Texas the food has to be prepared in the prison kitchen. There was an inmate who cooked a whole bunch of last meals for condemned prisoners and wrote a book about it when he got out. Other states are way more generous, Illinois gave John Wayne Gacy fried shrimp and a bucket of KFC before they juiced his fat ass.
