Hey Guys

I recently had the digital advantage plan with my wife and we paid 40 a piece for 400 anytime and alot of weekend minutes. Later after a few months of service I re-negotiated my contract and was offered 600 anytime minutes + 2000 night and weekends for the same price.

Why I like ATT
1 You can actually contact a Human CS withing 5-15 compared to 20+ with SPRINT. (I Was a Former Customer).
2 And in my area SO CAL the coverage is better and roam is free
3 Night minutes start at 8 instead of 9

Why i dont like att
1 Its hard to keep track of mintutes like SPRINT

Maybe people who use ATT can renegotiate

Sincerely
Clocker

Sprint has some nice phones, but the cooler ones are pretty expensive since they rarely have any free giveaways even with a contract.

Anyone one know what is the best plan under ATT for 29.99?

I currently have 250 anytime minutes
2000 Night and Weekend Minutes per month for life.

I called ATT and the most they would give me was 250 extra anytime minutes.
I tried for the Motorola V60 disccount but no dice. He said maybe in three months.

Anyone have an opinion on what is the best 29.99 (all carriers) plan out there?

If you can get 500 anytime + 2000 n+w minutes with AT&T for $29.99/month, you're getting a good deal, espically since nights start at 8 pm. The best competitor I think is Cingular's $29.99 250 anytime + 3500 nights+weekend with no roaming or LD charges nationwide.

AT&T is advertising heavily in my area 600 anytime + 3000 n+w (starting at 8 pm also) and free LD with a 2 year contract. The ad runs almost daily in the paper.

I got 400 anytime and unlimited nights and weekends, with free long distance for 39.99 from ATT, You are allowed to have, I think, 4 promotions going for an account, Call them up and ask them what you can upgrade to, its worth it

Is long distance under ATT the same as the Digital One Plan? Or is it only free LD when you are in your home area?

I have the following:

450 Anytime Minutes (250 in plan Regional Advantage, + 200 Bonus)
FREE Long Distance
3000 Night and Weekend Minutes
NO NATIONWIDE ROAMING (Makes my plan like one rate but cheaper and with more minutes!)
All for $39.99 a month!

I just got my first bill and was on Analog roam for over 100 minutes and had NO ROAMING CHARGES AT ALL!

You just have to have them add the FREE NATIONWIDE ROAMING, Free 3k N & W Minutes, Free LD, and Free 200 Minutes promotions to your plan.

I have had this for a little over a month and I don;t see where you could find a better deal ANYWHERE!!!

I had to re-new a 1 year contract from the day they changed my plan.

It did take me about 5 phone calls to get all the promotions! Be patient

For those of you interested in changing to a motorola v60 without getting a new plan, I just purchased one at best buy last night for $185+tax. I think this is the best price that I have seen this phone without activation. Good for those of you who are already subscribers and have just upgraded your plan but also want to upgrade your phone.

I just signed up for the Cingular Nationwide Plan @ $29.99/month.

250 Peak (yeah, it'll take some getting used to...was previously in a contract with Cingular, so I lose my 8pm Off-Peak time)
3500 Off-Peak (nights & weekends)
No Roaming or LD (I don't need nationwide, but I need the whole state of Texas, and I'd rather not worry)

Plus, if I decide to sign the 1-year contract...they'll give me the Nokia 3360 for $50 + a $50 MIR.

Not bad for what I need it for. Now if I can just decide what plan and with who to get for my mom.

I just signed up with Voicestream from ATT. My fiance and I got 800 shared minutes plus unliminted nights and weekends, and unlimited minutes between one another for $69.99. Plus it allowed me to get a GRPS connection (which still isn't availble in my area from AT&T).

It is a pretty good deal if you are buying for 2.

Verizon has the best national coverage overall...just a bit more expensive than other carriers, but well worth it.

<< Verizon has the best national coverage overall...just a bit more expensive than other carriers, but well worth it. >>

Saw a thing on TV comparing carriers the other day. They said that Verizon's national coverage is only covered under the plan when you're on their network (like Sprint and the others). You get off the network at any point and your better have some K-Y handy.

I've been on AT&T for about five years now and had Digital One Rate for most of that. I travel all over the place and frequently drop off their digital network, and even drop off their analog network to some local mom and pop company in the boonies. Every minute of it is covered under Digital One Rate. I've never had any additional per minute charge show up on my bill for using some obscure network in the sticks.

Now, here's what I haven't been able to make work -- there are a million people on this board who claim they have National Roaming on their package for free. I've called repeatedly and gone to several different stores. Every agent has explained to me in detail that they can NOT add anything to a package that is not on the little list they can open up on their screen. They say there's just no way to add it. And Nationwide Roaming isn't on the list. I've read the big thread but can't make it happen. Either I'm not saying the right words, not talking to the right people, or there are a bunch of trolls on here trying to make people like me go crazy by lying about their packages.

Are there any ATTWS reps reading this who can offer some advice?

you are right, i called this morning, talked to two different reps, and they said there is no way they can add nationwide roaming onto my plan without switching me to one-rate.
they were willing to add 200 additional anytime minutes tho, is it worth renewing the contract?

Me confused too. I think what everyone is talking about is the (direct from the website):

AT&T Wireless National Network plans

No Roaming or Domestic Long Distance charges in AT&T Wireless and affiliate markets.

Plans starting at $34.99

300+ Anytime minutes
69¢ per minute off-network roaming rate
20¢ per minute off-network domestic long distance rate

This is like Sprint/Voicestream where no roaming as long as you are on the Network.
I think the only way you can get no roaming anywhere is on the Digital One.

howhao,

That's what I ended up doing. I got both our phones on the local plan with 400 + 200 anytime + 3000 nights and weekend. They include free long distance and free nights and weekends with that. And for another $5 you can get a package that gives you Mobile Assist and 500 mobile-to-mobile minutes which is great since my wife and I talk on these all the time.

But they won't budge on the nationwide roaming thing. Like you said, I've beaten on very experienced reps (several who said they'd been there more than 3 years) and they all tell me that there is simply no way to add nationwide roaming to any deal other than Digital One Rate. I am notorious among my friends and family for being the person who can talk companies into giving me anything, but I haven't been able to hook this deal up. What's wrong with this picture?

If you know precisely how to get this done and just don't want to post it, please PM me. And don't PM me just to tell me I need to get the right rep on the phone. I don't buy that for a sec.
