Obama's campaign, obviously (and correctly) feeling his opponents are using dishonest attacks, launched a web site to rebut said dishonest attacks. It's fighting political propaganda with [ the truth | opposing propaganda ]. (I'll let everyone complete the sentence according to their personal colored views.)

Nobody's being "disappeared," going to jail, being investigated by the FBI, or anything else that in any way resembles the hysterical innuendo trying to equate this with Nazis or the Soviet police state. It's just one set of partisans attacking their opposing partisans. OMG!!!! Teh horror!!!

Get a grip girls. The sky is not falling. If it's Freedom of Speech for corporations to spend millions of dollars on bribes ^h^h^h^h^h campaign contributions, it's certainly Freedom of Speech for a political campaign to rebut their opponents' "lies." If they called it the Obama recession it would be misleading. They are only crediting him with the poor recovery which occurred entirely under his watch. Besides, I'm pretty sure everyone intelligent enough to read a graph knows when his term started. This must be the most egregious lie they found since it was on the front page.

What deflection? I didn't deny it as a hoax or anything, I acknowledged it, and can understand it even if I don't outright agree with it. You're deflecting away from what I mentioned that makes spidey and co. look like the hypocrites they are, as well as dismissing a Godwin right out the door. That's awesome.

Feel free to prove me wrong though, I'd love to see some evidence of this circle jerk being born out of concerns that date back to a time where they were vastly more applicable. Or is expecting some kind of ethical consistency from you guys still a waste of time?

It makes sense. If Kerry had been better at or had more people defending himself, the swiftboating wouldn't have had such an impact. But that's the problem, the 2004 campaign swiftboating showed the far right that lying to hurt someone's reputation works if that person won't attack back. Hell, based on the facts Kerry could legally have sued the SBVFT for libel and won easily, and he should have.

Truthfully I'd actually support this website if it were non-partisan. Democrats aren't innocent of telling lies about the opposition (even if the R to D ratio is like 5 to 1). Then again I guess we already have that site and it's called politifact.com.

You are a hack. The title of the chart is "The Jobless Recovery". The intent of the chart is to show the weak recovery that took place under Obama's presidency. It is in no way dishonest or misleading.

If Obama was smart he would just fill the press room with HotMilitaryStud.com types, fund a crappy GoDaddy blog and use them to lob softballs at him all day.

This thing with Bachmann and the HPV vaccine was very telling - when there's a disagreement about facts between two R's - well the media actually spends time debunking the claim and declaring who is correct, or calls the liar out on their BS.

When this same scenario plays out between a D and an R, well people will just have to decide for themselves who is telling the truth, the media doesn't want to be biased in any way.
