ATTBI Users having any problems?

IM having big problems. It seems like every other site i try to connect to i get a dns error and then the address changes to http://205.134.182.167/ . What the hell is going on. I know I configured it right. This is happening on the other comps on my network too. Bah

Yes, I am having some weird problems too...but not that one.

Honestly my internet connection was working better before I used their "auto configuration utility".
I changed some settings manually (unchecked "detect configuration automatically" in IE), and I can now browse the net, but ICQ won't connect, and atomtime can't connect to the time server either. I haven't tested anything else yet.

edit: netscape can't connect either, seems like IE is the only thing that can use the net. weird.

I don't know about yours but mine seems to be a DNS issue. ipconfig/all shows 4 dns servers:

63.240.76.4
204.127.198.4
12.242.20.50
12.242.20.34

I can only ping the last two however. If I change my configuration and specify those two DNS servers manually, then NOTHING works.

this might not help alot but i had a problem where sometime i would get to the page that i wanted but some of the other times i got to the AT&t broadband welcome page. So i cleared all the fleids on my router for dns ips to allow it to retreive new ones. And now it work pertty darn good execpt for it being really really slow like 100kbps down.

i got this earlier today, now resolved tho...something on their network obviously cuz i didn't change a thing...

I think they're in the process of changing the DNS servers here. After messing around with NSLOOKUP which will allow you to specify a DNS server, those 12.x.x.x.x servers weren't working for any sites, but the 63.240.76.4 started working. So I manually added that in my network settings and now everything works. I thought I'd never say this, but...w00t!

I'm unable to get past their transition page with my router. I have no options left except calling them or using the online chat... I'm number 1536 in line in the chat, so forget that.

Fredrick, at the support site, look at the top right. A rather poor spot...

Edit: I called and got nothing other than a big speach on how I'd have to call someplace else for "information," and what wonderful new features ATTBI had...

Called support, they said that it'll be 1-14 days before they have people in my area transitioned to the new network, despite the fact that my connection works for the most part (and completely after changing the DNS settings).
The guy I contacted didn't seem to know what a DNS server was, and told me to call back tomorrow to see if anything has changed.

Service has been restored in my area but I still don't have a physical connection. This blows -- I spent 6 hours on the phone yesterday and all they told me was "someone will call to setup an appointment, we don't know when".

mine got switched over today. the connection seems ok, though I haven't tested games to see if my damn ping is better than a 1000.

also i can't check email. I cant login to change any of the info and I noticed one little note on their page saying some people in the transition might have to call a number to get some new info. um ok
