I've still got a voodoo 3 2000 in my main system... but now that I finally can game once again, I'll have to upgrade...

Well, I'm still using V3 3000 on my MAIN system, the one I'm typing this on...and it still runs Q3A perfectly...RTCW crawls though =(

I have to agree with McCarthy - in my opinion it is quite reasonable for purchasers of expensive products to expect driver support throughout the lifetime of the card. The fact that the cards lack the latest features and fastest chips is irrelevant because the features that are included still prove useful many years after release. Given also that the windows operating system is ubiquitous it is not asking very much of manufacturers to provide support for a single line of operating systems. The withdrawl of driver support reflects the manufacturers desire for the consumer to 'upgrade' rather than any limitation in the card and unfortunately this is not only true of video cards but most other hardware too.

I have you beat ,my 3rd rig(old banger in my sys rig link) has an old Voodoo 1 4Mb card! ,still runs Quake GL fine

Thanks for the heads up ,as well as the above mentioned ,my sons rig has a V3 3000 ,& my little bros old rig has a Voodoo 2 12Mb
So any new drivers will be welcomed

I thought the drivers were already available but I dont see them?

I think you were thinking about the original TNT which was released in about mid '98 ,the TNT2 came out 1Q99

My main rig is still using Voodoo1.
And the other card is a Matrox G200.

I'm actually surprised, I still use a Banshee in my main rig, and the hacked drivers I got work almost flawlessly. I can even play RTCW and JKII with 20+ fps!

Beleghost, that's amazing. I get that framerate on RTCW on my Celeron 566@850, except I'm using a 175MHz Voodoo3 3000, and running at 800x600. I find it surprising that you can get the same framerate with your Banshee. What graphical settings are you running on?

Actually, this hasn't just started, but is almost finished. Go here for more info.

I'm still using my Voodoo5 5500 and it works fairly well in WinXP with hacked drivers. Some games, like Colin McRae 2 tend to lockup, but performance wise RTCW and other newer games work fairly well.

Can't wait for the release of these drivers though. BTW, they already have a 10.01 version in the works, this version will add DirectX ver 9.1 compatibility.

well I have two voodoo 1 pci cards with the pass through cable and that slave thing going...
