All I can recomend at this point for your setup is liquid cooling, if you can't get those temps down, because you are probably having thermal throttling. I couldn't get my load temps below 70c on my 3.4 with air cooling no matter what I did, even though my other 2 prescotts didn't have issues at all. The thermaltake bigwater 12cm was suprisingly easy to set up, and it is so much quieter than air cooling.

I didnt really notice how bad temperatures were until I would get some random crashes overnight, system would just crash with no errors reported on screen or in windows event log, I'm assuming it was the thermal monitoring on the cpu that was shutting it down? Anyway the first step I decieded to take is to re-apply heatsink, so I ordered ArticClean & ArcticSilver5, should be here tomorrow. Originally used the paste that came with heatsink, and I'm hoping I just didnt install heatsink properly the first time.

Also, might be a problem with my Zalman 7700, RPMs maximum seems to be around 1600 RPM? I have QFan off in the BIOS and the fan controller that zalman supplied turned to the maximum?

Will let you guys know the results, might need some help on decieding the next thing to try!

Before I got the thermaltake, temps were 66-70 on the max temp.Artic silver and the sp94 are miracle workers.

I also run 2 raptors raid 0 a tv tuner and a 9700pro (that is being rma'd soon)

Its not how hot they run its what you do to cool them
