18x20. Yeah, I have a couple i.prestiges and I hate stringing them. Too many crosses.

ahh didn't know we had so many enthusiasts here. Yes that was a very dense string pattern which I loved for the control. Man when I was a wee lad and strung rackets for money I loved getting prince rackets. Like 14 x 16 or something ridiculous like that. Could knock those out in like 15 min. Ahh the memories, ATOT may have gotten me to take up the sport again.

14x16? Wow, I don't think I've ever encountered that type of pattern. The lowest pattern I have ever dealt with has to be Pure Drive's 16x19(?).

It would be stupid to go buy a racket based on someone elses recommendation. Most tennis clubs and stores have demo programs where you put down some money, $25 or so, then you play with as many rackets as you like until you find one you like the best. Then the $25 comes off the price of the racket.

Yeah, I get b!tched at for that. You simply undercut the ball. Instead of going in a forward motion on the ball to topspin you simply hack at the ball from above and undercut it.

I use an old school Wilson Pro Staff Classic 6.1si with a rubber band for a dampener. I have an extreme grip... I hold the racquet like a frying pan and hit with tons of topspin.

I've played varsity high school and collegiate singles and still play the ol' Wilson Pro Staff Classic with the 85" head and 68lbs of 16 gauge synthetic gut, no dampener.

I've used an old Dunlop Revelation Pro racket. I've just had it for so long and I'm used to it. It's very similar to the Wilson Pro Staff Classic.
But I just picked up a Babolat Pure Drive + Team racket, so I'm getting hyped about going out and hitting the ball again...
I've gained 20lbs since I've been married... Time to get in shape...
It doesn't help that I've gotten into golf either...

Isn't that the Pete Sampras racquet?

My Wilson T3000 has served me well from HS/college team through recreational play.

All depends on your style and what YOU feel comfy with. I'veused the NCode Tour 90, Babolat's, head presige frames and I love the prestige and Tour 90 the most. I am a 5.5 player and find that a heavier stick plays best within my game.

I try to play at least once a week and have been playing since I was 6. If you are a very aggressive player with a fast swing and are looking for control over power the Head Prestige line is the way yo go.

Is that the $250 one? I saw it on sale at Big 5 for $50.

I play about twice a month during fall/winter, and about 3 times a week during spring/summer.
Currently using the older Yonex RD series mid-pluses.

Me thinks most of the technological breakthrough's in the last few years (nano-technology, intelliginent fibers, etc.) is just a bunch of marketing crap.
Any classic straight-beam frame weighted at 12 oz's or more works for me.

I have to disagree..
I have the Wilson Staff Driver (Dd5 460cc (Golf)) with the Nono-technology.. It gives me more control and power... plus it doesn't stain..

Love my driver..

I enjoy my Radical Tour throughly and I don't think you really have to be great to play with them...(someone mentioned you do before).

I would go to a local tennis center and demo a racket...where I work you can demo a racket for 48 hrs for $3, and then that price comes off the racket if you buy it. But, try out a few different ones, and ask a pro at the place to take a look at your swing. They'll usually do it for free and can make a better suggestion for a racket that way.
