That's what I'm saying... I bet almost half of us here would vote for none because most of us have optical mice. Fancy repeating patterns are not good in the world of optics... not to mention the added friction slows down your ability to glide for a headshot.

I have never been better in gaming than I was using my Razor Boomslang, and I've gone through three optical mice (two hardwired, one wireless) since then.

func 1030, with a mx700, and a p1110 21inch trinitron. Yea, im a hardcore gamer.

btw, ive used a ratpadz, and an everglide and the func pad is superior to both.

I'm using an LA Clippers mousepad I got when I went to a Clipper game a long time ago. I just use it with the Microsoft optical mouse I have. It doesn't like my desk. But any random mousepad works just fine.

I just use one of my wifes maxi pads, I have tried the ones with "wings" but could never get used to them.

BTW one of the added perks of using a maxi pad is if you spill somthing you can clean it up real fast.

Ratpadz suck. They warp over time, especially over lan usage, and it's impossible to get them flat. Get a 1030.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha, I'm still using my Max Payne one as well. I've got another few cheap ones I got for free lying around as well that I'll move to if something were to ever happen to my beloved Max.

I don't get the deal with expensive mouse pads, I fail to see how they help at all.

I use a fUnc sUrface 1030 and it is a waste of time trying to explain how much better it is than other surfaces for my mx700 cordless optical. Needless to say, I've had around 10-20 different mousepads and used my desk at one time (it is worn down in one area and looks like crap), so I've exhausted most possibilities. Supposedly there is a mousepad out now that is better than fUnc, but I havn't looked into it.

I have an everglide optical attack pad which has worked pretty well for me. Not like it makes a huge difference or anything

I used to have a 1030, but the rubber base warped and I could never keep the plastic pad part in. It got really annoying.

What, you guys need mouse pads? Guess someone forgot to tell you about OPTICAL mice... I use a free one I found in my dad's study.

Optical mice need mouse pads also. Depending on how well you want them to work. Apparently someone forgot to tell you that. If I use my mousepad on my desk, not only will it destroy the rubber feet, but the cursor will jump when it hits certain areas of the pattern on my desk. If you use an optical mouse on any unsmooth surface, it will not be able to work smoothly. If you use an optical mouse on any strange patterns or reflective surfaces, you may also get strange affects.
