ATTN: XP Pros! Please help!

I was installing xp on a fresh hardisk, and after I partitioned it into a ntfs partition, windows proceeded to install (after a restart). The thing is, every time it installs it hangs at the exact same spot, and It never reaches "finalizing installation" stage. Is there a hardware conflict somewhere? The HDD is completely new, i even scanned it using diagnostic tools to make sure its error free.

Its my 1st time installing xp and i'm not having a good "XP"erience >:|

hmm, sounds like a conflict with your hardware, maybe video.... could be controller problems also, what do you have for a system?

jkoXP maybe right, it might just be memory, vid.... if you have an extra memory/vid stick, swap it to see it the installation goes through

I could never get XP to install with NTFS. I just went back to FAT32 and have never had any problems.

I have resolved this problem!

It turns out that XP is not compatible with my old Epox 8k7a bios! I flashed my bios with the latest update and it fixed everything. I initially thought it was my graphics card but it gave me the same error when i plugged in my friend's voodoo 3 3000 (which i know has no conflicts with xp).
