I think it would be beneficial if there was another way to be notified that you had a private message. For instance, when you log on there's a message at the top of the screen saying you have a private message. That little lock-thing doesn't do much good if you ask me.

Maybe like on the old UBB when there was a forum announcement, the icon changed from an empty mailbox to full. What do you think?
