Seems like a pretty good price. I need a really cheap case, no PSU, for a secondary computer. A desktop case would be more fitting though. Anyone have any experience with these cases?

nice thanks, not bad for a second computer or whatever, $16 out the door is pretty sweet.

They have free shipping on selected items here and there. Unfortunately, you have to search around to find them. I found some CoolerMaster heatsink/fans for $5.49 with free shipping. I was able to order multiples and still get free shipping. I've always like CoolerMaster for cheap heatsinks - quiet and reliable.

Free S&H definitely makes or breaks the deal. I rang up four optical mice, and cheapest shipping was $19. So, unlike Newegg, compgeeks, and other favorites, this isn't a place that actually weighs your total and charges accordingly.

For $16, I assume beforehand that the case will be cheap and have sharp edges, but maybe it's worth it to some people. It depends on what your time is worth, and how much you value the components hooked up to the PSU.

Kind of funny that they have a 300W PSU for $9.99 plus shipping

I have bought from ebuyer in the past I would buy again. Their case w/ free shipping deals are great. However if you are in a hurry for the case you'll need to go another route. The free shipping is via USPS parcel post. Takes about 11 days for a case to arrive but, the twoI bought did arrive in good shape.

They also have the
Kingcase GL8-517D-S Silver Mini Tower W/300w Power Supply for $17.99 shipped
Kingcase K2-518D-RB Blue Mid Tower W/300w Power Supply for $17.99 Shipped
Kingcase K2-517D-MG Metallic Grey Mid Tower Case W/ 300w Power Supply for $17.99 Shipped

I think you mean that they are AMD compatible. No way does AMD certify a tin-foil 300W PSU in a $15.99 case.

Out of current chips, I might run an XP1600+ or XP1700+ on such a PSU (well, I wouldn't personally, but I could see it being done without exploding anything). But I also wouldn't gripe if the CPU was destroyed, as it is a possible risk.

This case _is_ a good deal for a mom & pop & lil' sister system, but it is definitely not for a system that gets heavy use and is left on all the time. These cheapie PSU's will definitely fail over time -- ask any tech service place. This case is more in line for your old Celeron chip and mobo in the closet.

Use it how you want. . . I was just concerned by the comment about it being AMD/P4 "certified." AMD has a fairly rigorous certification program, including stability under load and airflow.

The cheap JNC cases are lightweight aluminum and may get a little buzzy if you have excess vibration in a HDD for example. Didn't have any issues with overly sharp edges, and the 300W PSU runs a 2000+ on Syntax SV266A m/b without difficulty (14A on 12V in my example).

However all of the cheap JNC, Kingcase cases, even the fancy ones with front USB and side fans, use single-piece rear panel stampings. That's the kind where the lip for the card mounting slots sticks out the back. Had I known that I'd have waited and paid $5 more to get a better design. Newegg ran a special on Chyang Fun cases for $25 shipped a month or so ago, which are SO much nicer. Now waiting for Newegg to do it again.
