The thread title is a bit hard to use as a summary, basically these are power supplies with ATX connector (except for the 4th & 5th one), but not in the "standard" PS/2 form-factor used in most desktop or tower cases, (except for the second one).

1U 200W PCPower&Cooling $15 @ MPJA

Standard ATX 300W Sunpower $10 @ MPJA - Unknown quality but picture shows a Panaflo Dual Ball-bearing fan in it. This suggests they at least didn't cut EVERY corner, and the fan is worth $5 easy. MPJA uses pictures of actual product, not a generic pic. Don't forget to check out MPJA's other Monthly Email Specials.

2 Sparkles, 280W/150W, $12 ea, bottom of page @ Excess Solutions One is a tiny 1U size, other may be like Gateway OEM used to use. Dimensions for the larger of the two might be 100 W x 70H x 210 L (mm), might have 92mm fan underneath, but it's just a guess, as are the dimensions.

While you're on that Excess Solutions page, check out the "Item ES2733". Access Power System, Small. It has 4 7-Ah batteries, that look exactly like those used in APC & Other UPS, usually one battery is used per a 500VA UPS but some 350VA UPS actually have a compartment that can be enlarged to use this larger battery size (for twice the run time) too. My larger APC UPS (650VA?) uses two of these... 4 for $25 is a steal even if you dont' need the backup-power thing they're enclosed in). Don't be mad if it's not as I describe, all I have is the pic & adjoining description to go on.

Small (2U?) 100W Enlight $7 @ Allelectronics - AT, NOT ATX.

Extreme overclocker's special 540W $35 @ Allelectronics - If you have more money than sense, hooking this up in addition to your regular power supply will allow your system to burst into flames before it runs out of power... experts only, requires custom wiring/knowledge.

Panaflo's ball-bearing version is more expensive, better suited to potential high-heat enviroments like inside a power supply. They aren't old, are a current product. No higher-end power supplies use any form of sleeve-bearing fan, including Panaflo's "hydrowave" type.

Cool!!

I've been planning on a custom computer build, using some old parts I have lying around, but needed a low profile power supply. Seems like that first one will be perfect for what I need!

Thanks!!

If you are talking about the Sunpower model, yes, that's interesting. It looks, externally, almost identical to several "Kingspao" 230W AT-style PSUs that I've used in older systems, that ran really, really well. I wonder whatever happened to that company. The only visible difference is in the ATX instead of AT-style connectors.

hmmm .... that 540W is interesting ...... it looks like it has two seperate 12V rails ...... 10A each ...... and the 5V rail comes in at a whopping 60A =] ..... just hope that these power supplies are up to par as far as load regulation and ripple

Thanks for the post mindless1
I ordered one of the
"Item ES2733". Access Power System, Small
I think you're correct that the battery will probably fit in my APC 500va battery back-up.
(RBC2 battery)

I received the Access Power System mentioned above & the batteries in it do fit my APC UPS.
I had to drill out 4 rivets so I could take all four batteries out.
The terminals on these batteries are just a little narrower than the ones on my old battery.
I can plug them in fine, there's just a little play in the connection from side to side.
Good Deal!

GregANDTCH,
Thanks for the update. Did the batteries seem charged? I'm surprised they were riveted in, I guess they consider it a disposable device.

here is a power supply that i have been using of late in my builds . Achieve 500w it is dual fan , cheap , not loud . These are all i have been using for the past 6-8 months . i use 4-6 a month i like them alot .the rails stay within 5% on all of the ones i have used . some even stay within 3% . for a low cost power supply i think they are great . here is a pic of the side so u can see the rails . for 23$ shipped i think they are the best value in a power supply out there at the moment . if you do a search for them you will see some other venders are selling them for 2x the price and more .

mindless1,
The batteries seem to be charged properly.
They probably just want people to buy a new one when the batteries go dead.
