ATX power problem

I am currently running Win2k with service pack 1, and when ever I shut down windows, my computer will not shut down automatically. And not only that, I have to hold the power button down for 4 seconds to turn off the power, even though it is set to instant power-off in my BIOS.
I have a Aopen AX6BC pro M/B and I recently just flashed it from R1.02 to R1.12.
The 4-sec off problem occured only after I flashed my M/b, but the Auto-off problem has occured ever since I installed win2k.

Can anyone help me out here?

There are a couple of things you can try to get APM/ACPI power management with Win2k. The first thing to try is to go into control panel>>Power Options, and see if there is a tab there that says "APM"...If it is there, you can simply select it, and check the box that says "Enable Advanced Power Management Support". This may do the trick for you.

If it is not there, another solution is to reinstall Windows (I believe this method will work by selecting the Repair option, but I've only tried with a fresh install). Enable power management in BIOS, and begin an install of Win2k. When it first comes up asking you to press F6 to add SCSI drives, press F5. You will get a list of options that you would like to install as. Probably if you look in device manager right now, it says "Standard PC". You can ATTEMPT to select one of the ACPI types of computers from the list, and force it to install an ACPI HAL.

Warning: This could corrupt your install if the HAL is not compatible with your motherboard, so I would STRONGLY recommending backing up any data first.
