atx12v 2.01 vs. atx12v 2.00

Can't find the difference between the two standard. I'm thinking about getting this psu

but noticed that enermax now has a revision 2.01 out that conforms to the atx12v 2.01 standard. Wanne know what the difference is between the two standard before I get a psu that appears to be compatible with a slightly older standard.

Funny I am in the same boat. Need a V2.0 PSU for an A64 PCI-E setup and need to swap my Antec TrueBlue 480 for a V2.0 or higher supply

Check Page 4 of the v2.02 guide for the updates to each spec. Look like there is a V2.02 spec now as well

Look like the Enermax you posted or the Antec Neopower are good choices

I don't think there is an ATX PSU 2.02 spec yet. The overall ATX spec (case, mobo, PSU, etc. dimensions) is at 2.2. Basically a 2.0 spec PSU may still have the -5V line while the 2.01 won't - all mention of the -5V line has been deleted from the spec with v.2.01. -12V is next to go. The 2.0 spec requires split +12 rails if the total +12 continuous current rating exceeds 18A (240VA max). That is why that many PSUs that would be perfectly fine for your mobo (e.g. Zippy or the single rail Sparkle 550Watter) WON'T have the 2.0 spec as their designers chose not to go with split +12 rails. IMO, this second group is correct in their choice.
. Single rail is much more flexible as you will be able to take full advantage of the available current without needing any special adapters - some split rail PSUs have only one or two types of connectors on one of the rails. Split rail is for wimps...

Of course, as long as it comes with the connectors you need or adapters are available. Most PSUs that have over 25A on the +12, already have the 24-pin EPS12V (part of the ATX 2.0 spec) and the P4-12V connectors. It's just special adapters for SLI or such that they may lack. It is up to you to find out the exact connector complement before you buy...
. It is possible that Newegg will be expanding their PSU descriptions and photos to make sure the array of connectors is clear. At least I got a nice reward for making the suggestion...
