i think its great execution by audi...but exterior doesn't do it for me. This is something honda should've have done with the nsx.

the R8 is sooooo sweet (a gallardo body done right, if you ask me). R8 TDI would be even sweeter (please throw in the R10 diesel engine!!!!), and a while back there was an RS8 with the 5.x L V10 on the Nurburgring

Edit I just read the UK price is estimated at £76,000 plus options. That's over $150,000 so it'll be amusing to see what the final prices are.

US pricing for the R8 is something like $105,000.

Its not going to be the V12 TDI . Its going to be the 4.2 V8 Diesel, bummer too as that V12 in an R8 shell would have been fan-freaking-tastic!!!

I don't think they will call it the RS8, as that might be construed to mean a souped up A8

Doesn't even come with leather with the base price...I wouldn't be surprised if the average price sold is near 140k...

I know the direct conversion doesn't work. That's why I said it would be amusing to see the final price and how much extra UK customers have to pay, as always...

Comparably equipped, the 997 Turbo comes out to about $20k more. In this article:

Audi R8
Base Price - $109,720
Tested Price - $120,970


Porsche 911 Turbo
Base Price - $123,760
Tested Price - $141,510

The 997 Turbo would be more of a R8 V10 competitor.

I saw one on the street yesterday right outside an Audi dealership in Midtown Manhattan, probably waiting to be driven into the showroom. "Wow" pretty much sums it up.
