Audigy Drivers

One of my friends recently moved away and gave me his audigy card, only thing is I don't have the driver cd. I was looking at the forums on where to get some drivers but the only thing I found was 377 megs and I'm on a dial-up connection. Anybody know of any alternatives or other driver locations to get this thing working?

377 megs??? dang, if i recall they souldn't be much more than 25megs. What operating system do you have? You should be able to pick up drivers at creative's website.

you can install the driver only version which is around 12 mb i think.

I'm using Windows XP Pro. I used the method from tweaktown where you install a sb live! series card manually first and then install the driver update. It says that it installed and is working, and it was able to detect my sindwinder gamepad, but I'm still not hearing any sound from this card. Is there anything I'm missing here? It's recognized as a SB Audigy in device manager.

What sound were you using before? If you were using onboard, you will need to disable it via the BIOS.

Do you have digital speakers? if not is the "digital output only" box checked in the advanced tab for play control in your volume properties applet? If you do have digital speakers is it checked?

Are the volume levels all the way up?

Do you have the speakers plugged into the correct port?

i have an audigy and i mainly use the drivers only release. the only problem is that you then only have 2 channels. the audigy is in my other computer so i cant tell you more but you get better EAX support, multiple speakers, and some other things. if you want ill amil you a copy of the cd

I only have headphones, so I can't confirm this, but WinXP should allow you to switch speaker mode via the Sound control panel, so you aren't limited to 2 speakers, even without the extra utilities.

Thanks ivwshane. It was the digital output only checkbox. Forgot all about that since I didn't have to do it with my previous sound blaster live! to get sound. Thanks everyone for your support.
