Now working on Audigy1, after updating with the 2nd file "SoundBlaster_Audigy2_ZS_WDM_fix.rar".
Only installed the drivers, so can't comment on the other apps.
Driver version is: 5.12.6.402, dated 7/10/2003.

Could not install these Audigy2 ZS drivers for my Audigy1.
The Creative Installer ends up with the same previous .383 drivers, dated 4/10/2003.
A "manual install" produces BSOD-system halt error.
No go, for me.

Yeah, me too... the installer was screwed. It's fixed now though, download the updated set, and give it a shot.

just gave these an tried and they worked great on my audigy 2 (minus the graphic equalizer). I dont know if its all mental but sound quality seems a little improved the added options in the creative apps are a plus.. it even says audigy 2 in my device manager now..

How did you install only the drivers? And did the other apps from work from previous installs? thanks

Device Manager/Update Driver: "Install from a list or specific location"/"Don't search, I will choose the driver to install:"
"Have disk"/Browse to "Audio/drivers/WDM" folder. Click "OK".

Never messed with any of the Creative apps, so can't comment on them.

I got an Audigy 2. Does installing just the drivers will give you the same effects, if it work? Or do you have the have the full CD to install other applications to make it work?

Note: These may only work on the Audigy 2 ZS; have not tried them on the Audigy 1 or Audigy 2.

The new creative Audigy 2 ZS drivers work with the other older cards.
I managed to update my 5.1 card from the audigy2 .283 drivers(using Patch)to the newest ones:
Driver Date:7/10/2003
Driver Version:5.12.6.402
i don't know what appz and such will work,only have drivers now.

When you install your sorta Fake Audigy 2 ZS, what does the name of the drivers that appears in your "My Computer" properties? Mine came up as the Creative SB Audigy 2 (WDM). Is it suppose to be Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS (WDM)? In my control panel sound it says SB Audigy 2 Audio [9400]. What number is it suppose to show?
The funny thing is when I used the original sound drivers that came on the CD for the Audigy 2, it came up as the Creative SB Audigy, rather then Audigy 2. This is really crappy drivers recognition dude.
When I tried to install the software interface, it came up with an error that I don't have the Audigy 2 installed. But the drivers shows up as so.
So what gives?

I installed the drivers with the separate driver packet, (mine came up as wdm also). I then installed only the eax console from the disk - as I wanted the stereo x 2 feature. I did this by opening the eax folder and installing from there.

So what's the name of your My computer properties? Does it come up as Audigy 2 ZS or just Audigy 2?

its supposed to say just Audigy 2 in the device manager. Also.. the nubmers in the control panel, i think are random (because the numbers changed when i moved pci slots). All the software installed fine for me. I can give you a detailed method of installing the cd when i get home as i'm at work right now. But from what i recall, i think you run setup from the root directory and a prompt of a file should show up. I think you point it to the CTRUN directory and open up a ctrun.dbd file. I'm not so sure of the file name right now or directory because i'm at work.

I read on Creative's Europe site that the new 2zs drivers will be included on the next release of their drivers. It is still unclear if they will support A1's though. I think I'll wait for the official release though, but thanks for the heads up.

Hey,
I followed the hack instructions and it work by letting me installing the software. The only problem is the equalizer did not work b/c it was the Audigy 2 let was installed and not the Audigy 2 ZS. I think to use all of the feature you must have the Audigy 2 ZS. I don't know b/c both chipsets are identical. I guess it has to do with the BIOS feature on each card.
If anyone got a better idea please let us know.
