I have a Soundblaster X-Fi and updated to the latest drivers but when I scroll in Firefox, I notice a slight static audio from my speakers. Anyone know what is causing this?
The sound blaster card. They are notorious for all kinds of problems. No, I am completely serious.
Basically, your only other recourse then removing it is moving it to another pci slot (for various technical reasons this may or may not, from irq sharing to physical location of the D/A converter on the card).
I used to have that problem all the time in windows xp on my creative cards. When I moved to Vista it's never done it again (and vista sounds tremendously better since they fixed all the lame way of doing audio like xp does).
Thinking back when I had XP I believe I moved the card around into different slots and changed a few things to help it. Don't know if I ever got rid of it completely.
