yeah it does but I signed a 2-year contract with them for my MPx220 and it's been a year - now I'm eligible for an upgrade and they say they have no records of a 2-year contract being signed...

Also worth noting that the SMT 5600 is not an EDGE data capable phone. It's GPRS class 10, but you're not going to be able to do any of the really uber cool data stuff with it like Orb. At least, not at a reasonable clip.

I got the SMT5600 the week before last. It's a sweet phone, but at $30, somethings definately wrong with it, refurbished or not. I paid $279 for mine though. I'd rather pay extra and get it at the store and be able to return it than buy it online and be screwed that it doesn't work right.

Where did you pay $279?? It's at cingular.com for $99 new.

Just a question, smartphones can run all of the normal PPC apps right??
I would love to consolidate everything on to one device and not have to carry around 2.

Were you able to get the 1gb to work? The max it can take is 256mb per manual.

Even brand new you paid to much for the phone @$279, as for returning it, there are plenty of Cingular storefronts and there would be no problem returning it to one of them (there is also a 1 yr warranty according to their website.)

I've got a 512 in mine right now, and I have a 1gb for it too.... both work fine.

I got it directly from the cingular store. Main reason I went to the cingular store was because my contract with sprint ended a couple days before I got the phone, so I had my number ported over to the new service.

If you deal with cingular.com getting phones... don't expect Cingular stores to help you as far as warranty repair/replace. As far as that goes they are not affilliated.

if you have warrnty issues after the return period and you dont have enhanced warranty service you have to send it to the headset make anyway

I tried to order it online as an upgrade from my crappy nokia, but they won't sell it to me without buying some stupid assed starwars headset that plays sound effects for $25. has anyone else actually tried to do this deal?

It shoved those Star Wars accessories down our throat at the very last minute, too, and won't take no for an answer. After talking to their customer service they're sending us return labels for the unwanted stuff.

This deal seems to be getting cold. There are reports on HowardForums that 5600 refurb orders are being filled from old ATTWS Mmode stock; these phones don't have nearly the same amount of reception as the Cingular-branded ones for some reason.

Our refurb SMT 5600s are Cingular-versions. The radio revision is A12.02 vs. the AT&T-branded version's A10.01. So far the RF performance is about even with a Moto v400, albeit outgoing voice quality is definitely inferior. Incoming voice quality is alright.

To be honest, I'm having trouble finding it too. Either it was a griefer and the mods deleted the post or I'm just going crazy.

I'd swear I saw it though. At any rate, I bit on the refurbs too. Hopefully, I'll get some Cingulars.
