So why, you may be wondering, do I own a Ford GT? That's simple. The body is British, the gearbox is British, the steering rack is from an Aston, the chassis was set up by a couple of guys from Lotus, the wheels are German and the brakes are Italian. The power is American, yes, but it's tamed and sophisticated by Europeans. It's a metaphor, in other words, for the perfect world.

Hmm, I guess european ideas of "cool" cars are much different than ours.

i'll take my shelby mustang and my corvette Z06, then i'll slam the throttle and blow away every light-bodied euro sportscar with an exhaust tone that makes WWII seem like a whisper.

americans think about cars one way (giant engines, assloads of power/torque) while europeans think another (ridiculously tuned smaller engines, tons of HP, not as much torque, better driving dynamics). the muscle car was born on the 1/4 mile, not on the nurburgring.

I wouldn't consider myself an aggressive driver, but I'll be damned if anyone forces or expects me to speed up or slow down for them.

I actually prefer what you call the "european car", even though its japanese.

0-60 will entertain a person for the few seconds it takes to get there, and for the rest of the time, handing, and to a smaller degree, economy, are far more important, as far as Im concerned.

And this isn't even a sportscar list, just sport-luxury cars. I could list Euro sports cars, stock right out of the showroom and it would further blow those crappy Mustangs and Corvettes right out of the water. Euro cars are just superior, that's a fact.

America doesn't even make a true luxury car ($100k+) or a true sports car (600hp+).

If you would read the article, you would know the Adam's apple is not really an individual "thing" but a formation of another thing everyone has.

So everyone has the an parts needed to "form" an Adam's Apple, but they define it as whether or not that formation is visible from the outside. Technically everyone has an Adam's Apple. This was also on 20/20 as one of John Stossel's myths. A doctor said everyone has Adam's Apples, it's just that you can only see men's Adam's Apples, they're buried deeper inside for women.

i would say the Z06 warrants supercar status, despite the fact that it lacks the price tag to go along with its performance.

true luxury car - ford GT = $~160k
true sports car - Z06, even though it's "only" 505hp

and by those definitions, there are few true european sports cars that don't fall into both categories.

Z06 = Not even CLOSE to supercar status. NOT BY A LONG SHOT.

Don't even bring up supercar unless you're 700hp+. Otherwise get that weak crap out of here.

And the Ford GT a luxury car? WTF? That's not at all a luxury car. Luxury cars emphasize interior finish and technology.

If you think the Z06 is a "supercar" and the GT is a "luxury" you know nothing about cars.
