funny gatsby... i refer you to THIS thread on M5 forums. now, i think most people would agree that a ferrari f430 is a supercar. and yet a Z06 beats it, in 2nd gear no less.

so now the bar is raised to 700hp? even fewer cars that count as "supercars" and how expensive does "luxury" have to be?

i'd also like to refer this thread for Nurburgring Lap Times. The C6 Z06 stacks up as 26th quickest car.

go hang out around some "supercars," mr. "supermodel"

There is NOTHING "super" about some weak-ass 505hp corvette.

Supercar is 0 to 60 in 3 seconds. Top speed 220mph+ (not a bit less).

Anything else is just a run of the mill "sports car."

A supercar is something you gawk at when you see on the road. I see Z06s and new Ferraris all the time, nothing special.

I always thought it was harder to make a car turn at speed. As opposed to just blasting down a straightline with the biggest engine possible.

zondaF only has 594hp - does not hit 700.

MC12 is recorded as 0-60 in 3.8, top speed of 205mph

CC8 has 0-62 in 3.5, and only 655hp - does not meet requirements. CCX and CCR barely meet gatsby's ludicrous 3s requirement.

so by gatsby's rules, we only have 3 so far. i'm trying to point out how ridiculous his definition of "supercar" really is.

In 5 years, there will be at least 10 or 15 cars on the market that will qualify per my definition.

I define supercar as being one of the top cars in the world. Like top 5. There are dozens of cars that could match the Z06. That's not "supercar."

I swear, sometimes gatsby is even more retarded than usual. Cars with 700+ hp are not uncommon on a 1/4 redneck drag races, it doesnt make them super cars. Just get a decent small block + supercharger = 1k hp easy.. 700 hp is fairly easy to do, a lot of aftermarket skylines/supras do 700 hp quite easy, and even tho I would consider their overall performance better than a pickup truck with 700 hp supercharged v8, they are not supercars.
Go to your local 1/4 racetrack and tell me that those turbo'd/supercharged mustangs/whatever are supercars, lol
