So by your standards, the Ferrari Enzo, Porsche Carrera GT, Lamborghini Murcielago, and Mercedes SLR are not supercars.

i would say the Z06 warrants supercar status, despite the fact that it lacks the price tag to go along with its performance.
true luxury car - ford GT = $~160k
true sports car - Z06, even though it's "only" 505hp
and by those definitions, there are few true european sports cars that don't fall into both categories.
Z06 = Not even CLOSE to supercar status. NOT BY A LONG SHOT.

And the Ford GT a luxury car? WTF? That's not at all a luxury car. Luxury cars emphasize interior finish and technology.
If you think the Z06 is a "supercar" and the GT is a "luxury" you know nothing about cars.

funny gatsby... i refer you to THIS thread on M5 forums. now, i think most people would agree that a ferrari f430 is a supercar. and yet a Z06 beats it, in 2nd gear no less.
so now the bar is raised to 700hp? even fewer cars that count as "supercars" and how expensive does "luxury" have to be?
i'd also like to refer this thread for Nurburgring Lap Times. The C6 Z06 stacks up as 26th quickest car.
go hang out around some "supercars," mr. "supermodel"

So because a bunch of yokels say it's a "supercar" that automatically makes it one?
If the F430 is a "supercar" that pretty much makes any car that can break 60mph a "sports car." It's NOT a supercar, and neither is the Z06.
And do you even know what a "luxury" car is? It's not about price, it's about who it's targeted to and it's general purpose.
If a car has less than 700HP, it's not a supercar.
There is NOTHING "super" about some weak-ass 505hp corvette.
Supercar is 0 to 60 in 3 seconds. Top speed 220mph+ (not a bit less).
Anything else is just a run of the mill "sports car."
A supercar is something you gawk at when you see on the road. I see Z06s and new Ferraris all the time, nothing special.
You still have the "supercar" definition of 1998 dude. It's 2006. 500hp is what an old lady drives to church in these days. The standard has seriously been raised in the past few years.

Hmm, I guess european ideas of "cool" cars are much different than ours.
i'll take my shelby mustang and my corvette Z06, then i'll slam the throttle and blow away every light-bodied euro sportscar with an exhaust tone that makes WWII seem like a whisper.
americans think about cars one way (giant engines, assloads of power/torque) while europeans think another (ridiculously tuned smaller engines, tons of HP, not as much torque, better driving dynamics). the muscle car was born on the 1/4 mile, not on the nurburgring.

There, now you have 5.

I didn't say 3 seconds flat.

Still don't see where it says "flat."

lyssword, I am now going to redefine my supercar definition to only be "top speed."
Supercar = any car with a 220mph+ top speed.
