I was in Vienna over Christmas (with a day trip to Bratislava). I wish I could have gotten out to the Wachau Valley though, it looks awesome!

the Wachau Valley was one of the nicer places i've ever seen. the ruins in the hills above the town of Durstein are where King Richard the Lionheart (of semi-fictional Robin Hood fame) was imprisoned.

i did the standard hostel/train thing with a friend. a solo trip might be in order for my next trip. you'll never find me in a tour group!
