This thread has so much misinformation and plain old bullshit that I don't know where to start. So I wont, except to address this one inaccurate point - violent video games aren't banned in Australia, they just can't be classified because the legislation has never been updated to allow the classification of "R-rated" games. There is a difference - look it up.

You guys are idiots. That publication isn't anything reliable. Although they did pass a form Internet censorship recently, we really have yet to see any effects. It's also a hot topic of debate at the moment. So don't going around thinking that we're some sort of censored christian nation.

And as far as I'm concerned, I can still watch programming on prime time tv that isn't censored for language, violence, sex, or drug use while American TV and media is completely devoid of all human emotion.

You're not even allowed to see a list of what sites have been blacklisted.

It has issued a take-down notice and threatened fines of $11,000 per day to at least one website hosted in Australia which contained a link to material on this blacklist.

You can't be held as a US citizen without charges for more than 48 hours. As for the fucks in Gitmo, thats a different matter entirely.

We censor about 4 words, on broadcast TV. You disallow firearms and the parliment has mulled banning knives. I'd rather hear a few less swear words than not being to own a reasonable weapon for self defense.
