lol people really think if you get rid of guns you won't need to protect themselves? LOL

Seriously LOL'ing at that.

It's a sign of someone who is fortunate enough to live a protected, sheltered life. Mommy and daddy always saved them, and taught them to just call 911 and the po po will show up on gleaming white horses to protect them.

Why did Ted Bundy kill so many? Some people just get messed up. They grow to hate people not like them, people of a certain group and if that hatred is allowed to fester and their parents/community/society didn't teach them proper morals, it's probably not a big leap to go from just thinking and talking about that hatred with other people to acting on it. Taking out that anger on the people you hate.

You're always going to have the occasional single lunatic murderer. I think there's a big difference when you have several people acting together.

Also, it looks like there have been a few cases with a death penalty applied to juveniles in Oklahoma:

Edit - well nevermind:

"In March 2005, less than two years after Hain's execution, the United States Supreme Court held in the 5–4 decision of Roper v. Simmons that the Eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution was violated when offenders were executed for crimes committed prior to the age of 18. If Roper v. Simmons had been decided prior to Hain's execution, Hain could not have been legally executed."

It will never happen. Just ask obama.

These three could be his son, they are the victims here. Victims of a society that did not give them enough opportunity, victims of a society where people do not care for thugs, where people do not care for people with hoodies pulled down in deep cover.

People, this situation is our fault. We let this happen. We need to give more to thugs like the three victims in this incident.

Huh? Against 3 determined guys with knives, crowbars, or even fists, your average, and most above-average people are going to need a gun.

many people against a determined guy even without any weapons is going to need a gun.

But their parents yesterday protested their innocence.
Jennifer Luna, whose son is suspected of firing the fatal shot, claimed her son was at home saying: "My son is not that way. My son is a good kid."

"

Same exact MO from the thug's parents as well.

I think it's time we hold these parents accountable. Charge them with child negligence. Charge them with slander against the victim. Maybe then these known thug supporting parents will think twice before pushing their kids out on the street.

...till they are gone.
What's with this 'til they are all gone' stuff?

So until all of society -especially the criminal element- voluntarily returns to a pre 16th century world...

Might as well wish for '...until unicorns fly down from Santa's house at the North Pole, wave their magic horns and make the whole world into rainbows and candycanes' because that's just about as likely.

It's a non sensical argument, to me anyway.

The right to self defense is a natural right. I don't care if it's 1 guy with a gun or 50 midgets with wiffleball bats, I will respond with force to defend both my and my family's life.

Here is James Edwards holding what would possibly be the murder weapon. A small caliber rifle. He was bragging about shooting on his Facebook page.

And it's a freaking bolt-action, looks like a Ruger M77 (one of the most common bolt-actions). Wonder what justification the gun grabbers will come up with for banning it.

I want these thugs charged with a hate crime. We as a country should not stand for racially motivated killings.

Australian leaders(ish) calling for a tourism boycott until america "fixes" its gun laws.

Yesterday, former deputy prime minister Tim Fischer has urged Australian tourists to boycott the US in the wake of the shooting murder of the Melbourne baseball star.

Mr Fischer, who led Australia's gun control reforms alongside former prime minister John Howard in 1996, said choosing not to travel to the US would help build pressure on the US Congress to finally act.

Apparently over a million australians visited the US in 2012, up from 900 000 in 2011. They also showed interesting selection in including this quote from the girlfriend (are they mocking the US?),

It was more of a personality (we had in common), not so much interests. He was intellectual, into world news, and I found that quite boring

Put them all down. "For the fun of it"? Fuck them.
This. Can't happen though. Blame SCOTUS - I do.

And now the juvenile justice system is going to step in and protect them and pretend to rehabilitate them and give them all a free pass and a clean record at 18 or 21 just like it all never even happened.

THAT IS A TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE.
They'll be tried as adults and probably be given life without parole - although sooner or later some Democrat is undoubtedly going to let them out.

Actually, probably the shooter will receive life without parole and the other two will receive 25 to life - which practically speaking means they will be out in their late twenties or early thirties. But I'm sure they will be reformed by then . . .

I am the last person to blame video games for violence, but the way these kids went about their actions show how desensitized they are to violence and murder. It's likely they played many violent games and watched a lot of violent TV/movies which contributed to them being apathetic and desensitized.

Violence in games and media don't turn people violent, but they allow violent and unstable people to become further desensitized and suppress their conscience which would normally prevent these acts.
This is true. Same thing with guns - they make it easier to kill. (Though I'm not buying the emotional distance argument - these kids embraced murder.) Freedom has its negative side - evil people.

Well it's good to know that we're not the only nation with blatant morons in power.

It's also cute that he thinks Australian tourism is a more powerful force than our Domestic gun-control lobbyists. We aren't some tiny Polynesian island who depends on tourism. The freaking sequester has yet to have visible consequences for the average American and he thinks the few Australians who participate in his "boycott" are going to make a difference?

Honestly this idea is an insult to the intelligence of Australians. You don't want to come here because of one freak incident, fine, but I'm assuming he's going to avoid... most of the Carribean vacation spots as well (at least). Lot of corrupt dictatorships that do a lot worse than anything US gun laws have ever done.
