$7.99 for 5 quarts of Exxon Superflo (any weight), and a STP Oil Filter. No rebate needed. Excellent deal IMO, as the Exxon Superflo oil and the STP Oil filter are both solid choices for 5K drains. Exxon Superflo is an identical formulation to Mobil Clean 5000, verified by spectro oil analysis on Bobistheoilguy. Both formulas now use the GrpIII base stocks and a sodium sulphonate additive in an effort to advance beyond the "old school" ZDP AW adds.

STP Oil Filters are of the Champion Labs design, still non-Ecore at this stage I think. The offer makes no statement in regards to the maximum retail value of the oil filter, which means that people who own a 2.2L GM Ecotec 4-cyl can significantly benefit from this offer, as they would still pay $7.99 for 5 quarts of Exxon Superflo and a STP Filter even though the Ecotec Cartridge Filter normally costs 1.5x the amount of a normal, spin-on oil filter.

The Exxon Superflo/STP Oil Filter combo is good for 6mo/5K, if not a bit more, based upon the test results I've seen. The 6mo/5K rule also applies to any API SM engine oil or better, as the API SM spec has brought significant improvements across the board in terms of quality and service life standards for conventional oils, which has really minimized the gap between synthetics and conventionals.

They also have a free STP Injector cleaner after MIR; I'd suggest adding it 500 miles before an oil change so that any contamination with the engine oil won't be an issue.

I still don't like M1's showing of high Fe in analysis results, there has been much debate as to whether is due to corrosion or a reaction with metal parts. That stuff is decent, but not great, as it doesn't stand up well to solids, contamination, fuel, or dirt. Schaeffer's can do as well as M1 in 6-8K drains for 3/4 of the price. For a good 5w-20, I'd check out the Amsoil XL 5w-20 even though its a GrpIII, though a well-formulated one. One of the most underrated syns is probably Havoline synthetic, even though its a GrpIII. One can tell that it uses a lot of esters to have such as high FP.
