If anybody's buying a package, could you PM me? I could use one of those 3-shelf racks for my second system.

They are going to start free demo-ing of bookshelf speakers. If you give them a call, maybe you could try out a pair of Ref1s risk free to try them out?

I wouldnt go as far as saying AV123 is starting free demo's. Otherwise if you advertise it as such, you'll get a bunch of people ordering without the intention of keeping it. I would advise people to do your research ahead of time rather than ordering haphazardly.

I'm using a 20-39 PC+ right now which honestly is plenty for the current space, but for $650+ shipping, I couldn't pass up the PC Ultra I found

Checking Audiogon, Videogon, and several other FS/FT forums finally paid off... by making me spend money

I just need to find another PC Ultra so I can sell the 20-39 and have my nice matched set.

I figure that will hold me over and help me resist the urge to go BMF-1.

BMF-1 (yeah, it really does stand for what you think it stands for) looks amazing, as does the new svs ultra. You should have no trouble finding another PC-Ultra as soon as the new Ultra is released within a few months. I am a serious bass head myself: my subwoofers are 3x the cost of my 5 speakers put together.........my room is so large that 2 of these subwoofers are required to barely match my speaker levels....

You're right, it's meant to be "risk free" rather than "free demo"

Man I am slowly piecing my HT and I have only researched a PJ and screen. I am not even done doing that! I have only read great things about av123 and YOyo has them in his own home is enough to pull the trigger. I have alloted about 2k for speakers and the rs-760 based special is right up my alley. I have heard the rs450s and I love them. Any commets on the rs760 based special?

If you've already heard some rockets and liked them and $2k is about your budget, I think it would be hard to go wrong with the 760 deal with a few hundred off the regular price and free shipping as well. I have not heard the 760s, but my RSC200 and RSS300s I have are working quite well For HT use, having a good center is very important and the RSC200 can really keep up with the rest of a good system

LOL
you can be either too young or too old
Try thinking about California home mortgage...

I'm still very jealous; X-LS & SVS Sub combo ... ooohh!

So what kind of receivers are you guys using with them?
I heard their quality is so good that people can get away with low end Pioneers (1015/1016)

I was driving a rockets setup including the previous 4-ohm bigfoot (RSC200) with a 1014 and that was working fine. I've since moved up to something better, but they work well enough with receivers in that range. With bigfoot's new crossover, they're easier to drive than ever.

I would recommend e-mailing the guys at AV123 to see what they have to say about that. I think you should be fine if it can handle a 4 ohm load.

Woohoo!! My pair of reference 1 speakers will be here Friday. I'll be running them off a Harman Kardon HK3480 stereo receiver. This receiver has received pretty good reviews and it has plenty of power for the 4 ohm load ref. 1s, only down side is there is no bass management. I'm going to use a high pass filter set at 50hz on the pre-outs for the speakers, plus I'll be using a HSU VTF-2 MKII subwoofer on the subwoofer pre-outs from the receiver and using the internal crossover of the sub for that signal.. I'm hoping it will sound super sweet!!! I can't wait!

Hmph, after looking at the real life pictures, it's smaller than I thought...even though my DIY flexy doesn't look like much, it's perfect for what I need since I made it...I guess it'll work for now.

Thanks anyway YoYo, I'll shut up now.

No problem.

I'm just happy my ~$30 floor model component stand is still working for me.

It sure would be nice to have a couple lower stands and have everything under my screen rather than off to the side. I could then move my speakers away from the wall more since we would be able to walk where the component stand now fits

Too many compromises in this apartment
Luckily it's above a bar, so everyone seemes to be immune or tolerant to loud music

EDIT: Oh, and one thing I know I want from my replacement stand someday is in open back.
I have too many wires for the holes in the back of my current one heh

The 760s are the replacement for the 750s and the 450s are the replacement for the 550s. When I got my 550s, there were some people who preferred the sound of the 550s over the 750s for HT mostly due to the increased driver size on the 550s--this helped me justify not spending the extra $ for the the 750s. Although I haven't heard the 760s, the driver configuration on those seems to blend the 550s and 750s for a sound that's better than either of the two older models--a big step up from the 450s. I wish I didn't already have a setup ore else I'd jump on that 760 deal. That'll last you for a long time--at least until upgrade-itis kicks in! Get 'em and don't think twice!

Nice find jello. Looks like It's time to pickup the RSC200 Signature and 450's.

Does anyone know if the center can be wall mounted ?

The center is huge, and heavy. The site lists it at 46lbs..
Dunno if that accurate, but from what i remember this thing was a beast. I dont think wall mounting is an option.

Its an incredible center channel though, none better at this price.
