According to our techs, they are the most problematic notebook brand we carry. That being said, it's not uncommon for a laptop to have an issue or two over the span of a few yrs.
I'll put it this way: If you are buying an Averatec, i think the extended warranties would actually be worth it for that brand.
Yes, I often recommend Averatec. We have had the same one for a couple of years now, works great no problems at all. Best laptop I've ever had. We convinced a few friends to get Averatec and they are happy too. They're real light, good for traveling.
I was just eyeing up their 4265 model. Which has a slick 13" widescreen display. Nice looking machine.
Seems like a good value too. Mmm.. decisions. I think I'll go see if Staples has any on display at their store, or better yet Wal-Mart, since they are a reseller of Averatec too
