I had Avast for a while and I didn't like it - the program was slow and bloated. I tried AVG for a short while before my Windows corrupted and it seemed alright. I also had kaspersky for a little while and didn't have much of an opinion for it.

Which unfortunately is not free. Spy Sweeper's good for its purpose too, but it's also not free.
