Avira 10 and XP Limited account

I recently installed Avira 10 free AV on Windows XP Pro SP3. Noticed today that it allows me full access to the configuration settings from a limited account. I'm able to make and save changes from the limited account. This seems to be a loophole to me (or is it?). I expect none but an admin to be able to make those changes.

Although I may not have a definitive answer, but not only do I believe a forum thread should be answered, I also suggest your (or is it) answer is correct.

If we look as an administrative account as somewhat what cars( computer programs) that are allowed on the administers race track. When you went administrative to install Avira 10, and now use a limited account, why should the limited account care, if you turn on your cars headlights, windshield wipers, or whatever? The car is pre approved, all you are doing is throwing, inside of the pre approved program switches.

Thanks for explaining the rationale behind such a setting using the car analogy. But aren't we dealing with security here? What the admin intended, becomes lesser and lesser so with each user modification to the AV configuration. In the same vein if a limited user is also allowed to make changes to the firewall and automatic updates settings, it could significantly lower system security. I'm trying to find out if it's a legitimate concern or if am just being too paranoid about this AV thing.
