TBH i feel avocados in anything besides Guac is a waste of an avocado and does not add to the taste
its not about the taste. it's about the creamy fattiness that avocados add without using a shit ton of mayo.

I was about to say.... avocados aren't that expensive honestly.

Nobody is eating like $5 of avocado for dinner, and even if you were $10 on a good steak is still a fair price for dinner once in awhile.

Average food expense is $11/day/person in my mind if you eat out occasionally, gives you budget room for what you enjoy.

People act like oh gosh no $1 for an avocado.

Guac and Avocado are great. Each to their own...for the one who said a potato taste better. lol. Potato's are worthless in just about everything and are the epitome to bland. Avocado's are definitely not over rated IMO...just depends on when you eat them...just like fruit.

Yes indeed potatoes do taste better, if you get the good kind and fix them right.

Potatoes are just crispy salt and saturated fat delivery devices. People don't eat potatoes for the flavor of the potato. It's for the salt and fat that usually encapsulates them.

We can also say the same thing about the avocado as well. It's just a salt and spice delivery device.

I refuse to pick sides on the Avacado/Potato battle. Not even sure why it would be an issue.

This probably has more to do with the cost of petroleum than it does avocado. Gas is freakin cheap per litre. We just buy 50 litres at a time so it seems like a lot. On a per calorie basis, petroleum is probably the cheapest thing that has ever existed.

Costs more to buy a litre of milk than it does gas, and I can (almost) see a dairy farm out my bedroom window.

Avocado: The only fruit that has fat in it.

You say that like it's a bad thing. I'm pretty sure that's one of the biggest advantages avocados offer. Not much in the flavor department, but all in great nutrition!

I was just making a remark. Avocados are the only fatty fruit that I know of.

coconuts, palm fruit, olives, and technically soybeans all contain fatty acids. not as much by % as avocado but there are plenty of non seed extracted oils out there.

I love me some avocados, but I don't do this fancy stuff of putting it on toast or whatnot. I just slice one in half and eat it with a spoon. The fact that it's good for you is a great bonus.

Thanks. I forgot about palm fruit but wasn't sure if coconuts and olives were considered to be fruits.
