I picked this up for a ridiculous price of $70 USD for the PS5 and it's easily one of the buggiest games I've ever played.... rivaling even Bethesda levels of bugginess.
It's bordering on unplayable I’m not sure how this shipped, it’s really that bad. I am not a fan of Treyarch at the helm for the COD series anyway, but I wanted a mindless shooter to demo the PS5 so I decided to try it anyway.
The "desperate measures" mission crashed the game 4 times, audio is glitchy and unpredictable, vibration stops working, dialogue is missing, it hangs 1/2 the time in the same spot in the level and you have to close the game manually to get out and then have a 50% chance of it happening again when you load the game again. Additionally, the "redlight, greenlight" mission failed during the cutscene in such a way that it thought I didn't complete the level, despite having found the "evidence" they want you to collect in these levels and getting the achievement for beating the level. I had to go back and play the super tedious mission again to get past it.
The cut scenes are the most buggy of all, half of them don't even have audio or subtitles, the in-game dialogue is massively buggy too, sometimes a character is talking to you and there's no way to hear what they're even saying.
I don't say this lightly (I used to work for a game publisher/developer) but this is not release worthy. This is not even beta candidate worthy. It's definitely not $70 USD worthy, that's for sure. I am literally astonished they would put this game out. I think covid and the rushed release of the PS5 are obviously involved here, but this is legit embarrassing.
Avoid this game at all costs, it's literally that bad. I've read even worse complaints about the game in the multiplayer mode, this is just the solo campaign. It's sad because when it's not crashing or being completely glitched out, the campaign is really fun and the foreign dialogue you can hear that isn't glitched is actually really good and accurate. There's a level set in Berlin right off the U Bahn station I used to live near and the spoken German and written signs/graffiti are all very spot on.
