Question AW3821DW broken by UPS - is this fixable?

Hi guys, I just had my monitor delivered to my house today after shipping it overseas with UPS.

Attached is a picture of what it looks like when the screen is off (I have no idea what this even is, almost looks like air bubbles).

Is there any fix to this (DIY) or am I out of luck?

Could just be the top laminate and a blow-dryer might be enough to heat it up and press it back into place. Might just be the protective film they ship with new. Either way don't waste too much time if you need to file a claim with UPS.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but is the top laminate the protective film or the matte looking thing that looks like it's peelable but isn't? I was going to file a claim with UPS but I don't have insurance with the shipment :/

Well, if the bubble part peels back somewhat easily it's just the shipping film from the factory that never got removed. Screens are made up of several layers of film though but, it's more rigid than the cling they put on the surface to protect it in shipping.

Hey there, santistabravo10! Tech Junky's right, monitors do have several layers but the protective film is usually easy to peel off. If it's not coming off easily, it might be a laminate layer, which isn't meant to be removed. Trying the blow-dryer approach could help if it's a laminate issue but be careful not to overheat it. If that doesn't work or if you're not comfortable trying, contact the manufacturer or the place you purchased it from. Even without shipping insurance, you might have some options.

The majority of displays I have had shipped with UPS have been destroyed by UPS. ( several TVs, etc)
(amazon prime member here running a resort and replacing displays in rooms, if they ship with fedex they are fine, if it is UPS 9/10 DOA)


any chance at all of RMA or making a claim?
