I had the distinct pleasure of meeting and bs'ing with Pat Tallman ( Lyta Alexander). I am a dealer at a trade show called Chiller twice a year. She was wandering around the dealer room before the stars had to start signing autographs for the day. She was extremely friendly, and seemed to appreciate my " fanboy" attitude

Looks like someone just took a big cr@p in the middle of your thread. Babylon 5 isn't my favorite of sci-fi shows, but this is definitely a decent deal. Deep Discount DVD has this for $75, and they have some of the lowest prices around.

Keep in mind that you may be charged a currency conversion fee by your Credit Card company...

DVDs are always much cheaper in Canada! I bought Wagner's Das Ring des Nibelungen for less than $51 shipped from Amazon.ca when the cheapest places in the states were over $100 delivered. Look at Amazon.ca's prices on Staragte boxed sets, you can get season 1 or 2 for $30 delivered (if you use the $10 off coupon floating around). I paid $42 at CostCo and thought that was a bargain!

Canada rules... now only if compter components were equally cheap.

Is this a Canadian version which might differ from the US? I bought a boxed set of "From the Earth to the Moon" and boxed "Fantasia" set, plus one other dvd, from Playcentric. The boxed sets were the same, but the other dvd had the half french, half english all over the holder. Other than that, I THINK it's the same dvd. I noticed, however, that some of their other dvd's have french extras, but no english, which would be on US releases. I counted myself lucky and haven't ordered fom Playcentric again, even though shipping was fast and they have good (a lot of times best) prices by quite a bit. Don't want to chance not getting what I think I'm going to get.

You run the same risk with amazon.ca. Just thought I'd point that out and see if anyone knew if THIS boxed set was exactly the same in both Canada and the US.

You might check with your card, but neither my Visa or MasterCard charge for currency conversion, you are merely charged that day's published exchange rate. I have used my cards to order things from Canada, Japan, Europe etc without any problems (all in respective country's currency)... I have also used my cards to buy things while in France that were in French Francs (euros now!), and the charges always showed up on my statement is US Dollars with no surcharge.

As to the differences in DVDs, most DVDs are the same identicle versions. There are a few exceptions, and I think B5 is not one of them. But you are right to be cautious. Anyway, you will get the same region and NTSC encoding... but you may get different bonus features or packaging, or possibly an added French voal track (possibly in lieu of Spanish or some other language). I'll post here when I get my discs

Wow $52 shipped (converted)

B-5 was one of the greatest achievments in amerivan television history. An epic novel completed over 5 years. Some of the best writing I've ever seen on TV, which is generally a wasteland, particularly in Sci-Fi (tho very little of what is labled Sci-Fi actually is IMHO). I think it will one day take a place with Homer's odesy, the story of Gilgamesh, Beowolf and other great epics (tho admitadly JMS "borrowed" liberally from his predicesors) - sorry for the unsolicited opinion and dreadful spelling

Got mine in yesterday. There appears to be no differences between this package and the bought-in-America version (not surprising, considering both Amazon.Com and Amazon.Ca have it listed with the same ASIN stock number). I didn't have much time to watch last night, and only made it through half of "Midnight on the Firing Line." Audio and video quality are extremely nice.
