Bachelor Pad Necessities

Hey everybody, I'll be moving into my first apartment this weekend. What items do I need to make it the ultimate bachelor pad? So far I have these things:


1. Blender for making smoothies (and other mixed drinks) for the ladies
2. Rotating soft lighting in bedroom
3. Many hours of jazz MP3s
4. Low platform bed with futon mattress

And not by request, the closet doors are mirrored. Eww hew!

I was thinking about modifying the interiors of the fridge to be on a rotating "lazy susan" type thing. So, one side would be nothing but beer, but when the parents come to visit, I can push a button or turn a secret handle and the whole interior would rotate 180 degrees to reveal fresh fruit, milk, and sunny D. None of the purple stuff.

The checkout guy gives you a really weird look when you push a box of 48 condoms across the counter to him. Ahem.. uhhhh...well.. that's what I heard. Uhhh...

Congrads man. Remember to look at the dates of stuff in your fridge before taking a swig of it. You'll eventually screw this one up at least once, though. :Q

Atmosphere-wise, try getting one of those free subscriptions to Gear, Stuff or Maxim magazine. You would think this would be a turnoff when seen by the gals, but strangely it seems to work the other way. I'm sure there's some Freudian explanation for it. You'll also need a coffee table to casually scatter the magazines across. It's also mighty fine reading material. (?)

Oh. And how about an escape chute at the foot of the bed you can gently nudge her into on the morning after? That is, if you're not expecting breakfast as well.

My vote is for a few X10 light controlling units so you can get that dim mood lighting with a touch of a button.

We'll that's what I haev in my place anyway. And if you plan on entertaining often get LOTS of sofas.

BTW I get the playboy channel, and girls really like to watch that stuff......more than I do anyway.

My roomates in the dorms had their room exactly how you describe it. Needless to say they smoked weed 5 times a day. Hehe. What are Ben Wah Balls (Besides a blink song)? I think i'm going to have to do something about the sofa situation. (we only have one).
