Well, I'm back! I had a great time down in Nashville. As this wasn't a normal interview day, I was the only applicant visiting, and so got to spend a ton of time with current students down there. There are some eccentric people, but most of them are really cool. Almost everyone I talked with was from Harvard or Duke. Made me feel really stupid.
The interview went well. They spent alot of time asking me about my experience as an EMT (I think that gave me some bonus points), and then drilled me for about 30 minutes on why I wanted to be a doctor. I think I impressed him, as he said "Wow," when I got done with my 5 minutes (unprepared) speech. He said I could expect a response within the next two weeks, and that it would be a joy to teach a student such as myself. Overall, I feel I interviewed well, but we'll see. It's a great campus, and the students are cool. Hope I get in .

Tomorrow's the day. I leave at 6am to go to Nashville for a day at Vandy. It's the most crucial part of the application process, and I usually freeze up during important things. If everything goes well, I should know sometime next week (or the week after, considering it's Thanksgiving week). Wish me luck, I'm off to bed!

That's right, Vanderbilt School of Medicine just sent me an invitation to come for an interview day. That's a huge thing, especially since I attend a Tennessee state university, and they only grant 10% of instate applicants interviews. I'm nervous, excited, and perplexed as to why I waited until 11PM to check my mail. Nevertheless, wish me luck, as this will be one of the single most important days of my life. for everyone!
