This is still the slimmest/smallest full-fledged Palm PDA on the market, has 8MB of memory, B&W screen. You can grab some pretty nice accessories at clearance prices in some local B&M super stores (Office Depot among others). I still have my Palm Vx and use it in my car for GPS navigation, and wireless web browsing. I just wish every PDA could be this small and convenient to carry (this is the ONLY PDA that can fit into a dress shirt pocket without pulling it down).

This may not be hot for everyone, but at least warm. Those in the market for an upgrade to your older Palm III or M100, this is definitely something to think about I would use this any day over the older Handspring Visor models. As a stand alone PDA, the Palm Vx cannot be beaten (battery life is fantastic).

Uhhh, not that hot though. I'd rather pick up the clearance priced handspring visor edge at around $100-120 from walmarts and best buys. The visor edge is also very thin, 8mb memory, USB interface, 33mhz cpu (very overclockable too), and uses a VERY nice heavy-weight stylus.

I paid twice as much just over a year ago. Overall this is a great PDA, superthin and 8MB of memory. It shows its age though with the serial interface and no expendability but for under $100 bucks it's tough to beat.

I went through eBates and applied the $10 off $100 deal, and it went through even without adding anything extra (the PDA is "only" $99.99). + $2.95 s/h & that's a full palm kit (includes AC Adaptor, hotsync cradle, *and* leather case!) for $92.94! It's been a while since I shared anything on the Hot Deal forums. Ironically, what prompted me to check out overstock.com early this morning was an Ad that I received from them via email

I ended up buying that Panasonic MP3/CD player, which also entitles you to get a Free VHS tape (got myself the Dragon Ball set for free), and I applied the $5 off $50 coupon. Total was about $62 shipped for the Panasonic MP3/CD player (25 hour battery life with 2 AA batteries) and the Dragon Ball movie set Perhaps this should have its own thread?? hehe

I presume this is fully functional with MAC's? Considering it just has IBM's name on it, but is truely total a Palm and uses the Palm Software and interface?

I'm thinking about upgrading my girlfiends IIIxe which seems to be dying (screen is constantly misalligned), and she is using a MAC. So I figure if this will just plug into her already installed and running MAC Palm Desktop software then why not?

This is a sweet deal. Buy the Targus USB adapter (which charges and syncs ) for $25 at buy.com and you're all set.

One more thing -- I would be a bit hesitant to buy from Overstock. IMO, they're a bit shady (and they've screwed me over a couple of times.)

Well, in my opinion, the reason why I like the Palm Vx better is because you can find its accessories for very cheap nowadays (modem, wireless modem, stowaway keyboard, and other add-ons). I don't know if all the Visor accesories fit on the Edge. Don't get me wrong, I think the Edge is pretty cool (but not as good as the Clie T-415 which as a 320x320 backlit B&W screen and is also very flat).

Well, for one thing, I can't find a Visor Edge online for anywhere less than $140. B&M's may have it cheaper, but I don't typically have much luck finding good clearence items at B&M's, not to mention the fact I don't feel like driving around for hours searching. Even if they are going for $100-$120, that's still $10-$30 more than what I'm paying through Overstock. + tax.

Now, if this was for my use, I would take a good hard look at the features by both & weigh the differences. But I'm a power-user, like most of the rest of us. My friend is a very non-technical person, but I think this would be something useful for her to have (and I think she will really enjoy it once she learns how to use it, which is why I'm going to include a "getting started" book with it - any recommendations from anyone?).

(this is not meant to be a flame, I just want to explain my rationale behind it, so you can see that there are legitimate reasons )

Bought one... Couldn't find anything else that I wanted that was cheap enough to get me just over $100 to use the $10 off $100 coupon so I used a $5 off $50, and the $2.95 shipping coupon.

Total $97.xx...

How does ebates work? I went to overstock.com through ebates and got the PDA, but when I went back to my account at ebates, it didn't show anything. Am I suppose to wait awhile?

Ebates will take a few days to a couple weeks before they send you an e-mail confirming your credit.

Here are some possibilities:

1. c3 is smaller

2. c3 is black

3. edge has no flash memory

4. edge is 20-40% more expensive

I had the older 2mb c3 and it worked like a champ. I specifically picked the c3 because it was BLACK and 'I wear black on the outside because black is how I feel on the inside' (Morrissey)
