I'm certain every state has it's share, but when put under such an incredible microscope, the FLA morons decided to go above and beyond and show for once and for all that if you make something idiot-proof, someone will always make a better idiot

How far is too far? So far most people have only been telling the truth, or some version of it...
Besides, in a while, everyone will stop making fun of Florida, because they will all be making fun of the next president, no matter WHO it is.

Don't worry VAP0R,

I got my skivvies in a wad over it earlier, but I am resigned to that fact that bashing is a form of stress relief. I prefer other methods, but hey, we all have to do our own thing.

Anyway, people are still going to pay $1,000 a night to rent my house for the Superbowl.... so, who will be laughing then?

Yo_Ma-Ma: I think that qualifies them as tremendously more moronic.

High,I'm from Louisiana.La. has had more political high jinks than any other state. Our former Gov. is headed to prison, along with the Ins. Commis.I have ragged on Fla.,and feel bad for doing so,seeing where I live.None the less, the world awaits the outcome.I can only imagine if this collossal blunder had happened in my fair state. This voter fraud is rampant in the US,thats why La. went to computerized voting booths years ago.

It's not just that a big group of people in Florida are extremely stupid, it's that they are extremely proud of it, coming on TV saying that the ballot was just tooooo confusing for their little braincell to handle. If I had screwed up something a chimp could handle, I sure as heck wouldn't be on TV bragging about it, and I certainly wouldn't be demanding a revote based on my stupidity.

Then again, based on the vote totals so far, I can certify that there are at least 2,910,192 somewhat stupid people in Florida.

He's right everyone, this BS happens in EVERY state. Although, not to the degree that it happened in Palm Beach and Dade Counties...

Has anyone heard for sure whether or not the 20000 spoiled ballots were replaced on the spot for another? I saw this twice but noone seems to care..

I'm from TN, and all I can say is I'm so damn proud of Tennessee's voters I can't stand it!

I wish I could've seen Gore's face when the TN results came in. LMAO!!

Generalizations are for the birds. Just because some ppl cannot vote right don't mean everyone in the state are idiots. That is like saying since California has San Francisco than all of California must be fags.

I voted right, and I am an intellectual person. The counties in question have very high elderly population, so it is understandable that there could be some confusion.

BTW, if you don't like our state make sure you don't visit. Most Floridians do not like snow birds and canadians coming down here anyway. Now hows that for a stupid generalization.

<< What's to be proud of, it's the Tennesse voters that were myopic enough to vote Gore into to office to start out with. >>

He actually had very different values then. He was Pro-Life, Pro-Gun, Pro-School Prayer, etc (and his voting record in the senate proves it). In other words, he upheld the views that most people in TN ascribe to. He no longer has these views and we in TN let it be known to him that he's a wanker. It's quite simple.

<< A good anology would be >>

Bad analogy actually, we didn't make this monster. He's a product of the Beltway, not the good people of TN. And I think our voting record has now proven that. We don't claim him, DC can keep him.

You know what I find funniest is that they took the exact ballot from florida and gave it to a class of 27 second graders and told them to vote for Gore and the all got it correct ... now you tell me if 27 second graders can figure out that ballot .. why cant a bunch of adults??? As for Tennessee .. they were smart enough to vote AGAINST Gore ... if your own home state won't even vote for you .. I mean really ...

A republican state voted against a democrat.

What is it that you people don't get?

(edit for clarity)
A republican state, (Tennessee), voted against a democrat, (Gore), why is that such a putdown? (end edit)

Well, to be honest we're not totally Republican... most of our state Congressmen and Senators are Democrats (as well as almost half of our US Congressmen).

Not to mention the Mayor of Knoxville (the city that put Bush over the top in TN) is a Democrat (Victor Ashe). It's not the party you belong to in TN, it's how well you do your job and how you appeal to voters in general. Gore simply sucks, and we know it.
