I am backing up some programs and data, preferably to a CDRW. Original Size is prob 3 to 4 gig and I want to to backup this data by compressing it to a CDRW. I have a program at work...what I want to do is fresh install the program at home...then copy the data and all settings at work by a backup, then take this backup home and apply the backup to the newly installed program at home, thus updating the home version to all settings and data matching the program at work. Home that makes sense . I can install the program at home but it would be a pain to go in manually update all settings and passwords etc...so it would be easier to install program at home then bring in a backup from work which would be a mirror of the program, then take it home and install this backup over the home version thereby updating it exactly to the program at work. This is a mortgage processing software package, and I guess I could copy files, templates, etc slowly 1 to 1 but it would be a pain and I could miss some data sense it is a complex program. I'd rather just copy the main program folder and all folders and data under it then reapply this at home. I need suggestions first for any free software that might do this, then suggestions for commercial packages.
Also, work copy is on XP Pro NTSC format, home I have the choice going to XP pro NTSC comp or a Win98se comp with FAT32...prefer to go to the win98se if possible with FAT32 since the XP Pro comp is used for video and is tied up alot for encoding. Thanks.
