So I've been a bad geek and somewhat neglected my backup duties. A great deal of my files were backed up only on a usb hard drive that was rarely turned on. The burned dvd archive is pretty dated and my automated backup to my nas is limited in scope due to space available. Long story short, I had to restore and after restoring a small amount of my data, my USB hard drive contracted a fatal click of death. I don't even know everything I lost right now.
Among the plans to upgrade my nas and replace my usb drive (with something perhaps more reliable than the wd mybook series, this was the 2nd failure i've had with one with very low hours on the clock), I've also picked up a 32gb flash drive. I want to put it on my keychain and once every week or two plug it in, mount a giant true crypt volume, and sync my most important folders to it. Worst case scenario I have everything I can't live without in my pants pocket all the time.
What software do you guys recommend for this? I've looked at sync toy but it seems to have some issues and may not be quite 100% quality wise. Is robocopy with the /mir flag called from a batch file for every directory the way to go?
