Bad 3DMark11 and PassMark Scores

Hi and thanks for reading! I am looking for insight on why my PC is running slow. I noticed my PC running slow on Deus Ex Human Revolution as well as Saints Row: The Third. It turns out, my 3DMark11 score is just above 2000, PassMark is 1896.9. I see my CPU, GPU and memory getting outclassed by seemingly similar hardware in the comparison charts. Here is my system info, are my scores low or what?

Hyperthreading: Disabled
Motherboard: P55-GD65 (MS-7583)
Memory: 8GB G Skill Intl DDR3 SDRAM
Videocard: ATI Radeon HD 5850
Hard Drive: Mushkin MKNSSDCL60GB-DX (60GB)
Hard Drive: WDC WD5001AALS-00J7B0 (500GB)
Hard Drive: Lexar USB Flash Drive USB Device (8GB)

Those scores are where I would expect them to place, as most of the comparison scores you have posted are for hardware that is superior to yours.

You are comparing literally apples and oranges there - your circa-2009 processor/video card simply can't compete with the referenced hardware. Of the scores shown, the only processor that is actually comparable with yours is the (also 2009) AMD X4 955 (i.e. any i7/FX processor is going to blow a 45nm i5 out of the water on a simple static benchmark as Intel and AMD have been optimizing to benchmarks forever). Your video card, also with a circa-2009 processor, is just getting long in the tooth.

Short of overclocking, you might even want to consider doing a fresh Windows install.

Thanks a lot for the advice, I was wondering if this was the case or if it's slow for some other reason.

I did do a clean sweep and reinstall windows, that sped me up a little bit.
