Its not really "Bad-ass" at all, and I dont know if anyone has mentioned it, but it sent chills down my spine.

One of the last scenes in Schindlers List, when he is just about to get in his car and leave and he go's over all the stuff he could have sold to do more, to save more people. Pretty emotional.

Bad ass would probably be the scene in Pulp Fiction when Julius and Rico talk things out.

Dawn of the Dead remake: When they're getting ready to go in the basement to turn the backup power generator on, and Kenneth pops up. (cocking his shotgun) "You ready to roll?" "You're coming with us?" "Naw, you're coming with me." It's Vingh Rhames, he could make reading from a cookbook sound badass.

Superman II: When Zod breaks into the White House and makes the President kneel before him

Superman Returns: When Luthor looks down from his heliocoptor and sees Superman carrying the island over the water.

A movie scene which always brings a chill down my spine has to be the scene from Hannibal where Anthony Hopkins cuts a piece of Ray Liotta's brain, tosses it onto this flat grill, then feeds it back to him while Julianne Moore watches.

Quite true also, except I couldn't bring myself to say it as it actually happened in real life.

when russell crowe takes off his mask and turns to face joaquin phoenix in 'gladiator'. the look portrayed on his face: shock, confusion and anger all hitting him at once is great.
ouu yeah, i agree. plus the monologue that followed it.

"My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next."

Winner

Maybe not the "Winner" but good.

Let's see....

Any time that "A Time Goes By" is played in Casablanca

"Come with me if you want to live"

"Now you's can't leave"

When the guy's head is in the vice in Casino

When Bruce Willis gives the look to the gimp right before he shows that he's untied himself

but my number one, and I can't believe on this forum it hasn't been mentioned....

"I've just made a deal that will keep the empire out of here forever..........."

Oooh, another scene I remembered. On the field where Katsumoto commits Hari-Kiri and all the soldiers kneel and bow. MASSIVE chills.

Open Range:
Costner: "You the one that killed our friend?"
Gunman: "Yeah. I shot the boy too. And I enjoyed it."

Gunman has a bullet in his head.

In the movie by M Night Shyamalan.....~SIGNS~

after the alien invasion is over , and they come back upstairs. And Mel Gibson goes into the closet to get the tv to show his son , who is recovering from a bad asthma attack , how people are rejoicing that we had defeated the invaders...
and he comes out of the room , and freezes...you see the reflection of the alien holding his son in the tv....
then his brother comes into the room with the syringe of medicine for him...and drops it.
Then the flashbacks of when his wife died , and she tells Meryl to "swing away"....And at that moment when it all makes sense to him...and he looks at his brother , and tells him to remind Meryl to "swing away"....the shot where his brother turn his head to look at his prize bat with the longest homerun record under it.. and you see him take the bat in his hands....when you see his fists tighten on that bat it gave me chills. And does just thinking about it again.

Anyone else think about that?

the times that sent "chills down your spine" or "gave you goosebumps...

suspensefull - yes , Resovior Dogs , and Seven were....but didn't give me chills. The part in "SIGNS" I was describing is the only time where I can remember truly having those chills...
to walk in the room and see an alien holding your son , or you nephew.....having your homerun record bat hung on the wall above the award......seeing bat come down...and watching the fists tighten around the handle of that thing....ready to hand that thing a beat down like it's never had.....the moment when you see the swing from way back...and the Louisville Slugger broken like it's a toothpick...Man C'mon.

Let's see, I agree about the curb stomp in American History-X, oh, and the head-in-a-box? scene in Se7en.

The part in "Misery" where Caan is laying in bed and Bates takes the sledgehammer to his ankles, right after saying "God I love you", yikes.

"Cold Mountain", near the end of the movie, when Kidman sees Law coming down the valley and gradually realizes who it is.

A number of scenes from the movie "Lolita" from 1997.
