Bad exit status

total Newbie here, so be warned

i am trying to install the nForce2 drivers on a newly installed Mandrake 9.1 OS.

only 9.0 drivers are available but they say you can re-build from src

it appears rebuilding from source is nothing more then a few command lines and not a whole bunch of encoding in machine language like it sounds like

i gave it a go, a few to be exact.

PS i typed rpm --rebuild NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0256.src.rpm

I'll guess that above your snip there was a mention about a missing include. CONFIG_X86_L1_CACHE_SHIFT is probably defined in an X11 include from a package like "xfree86-devel". So make sure you've got the development packages installed.

i ticked "Development" during the install,
dunno why havent programmed in years, but thought i'd give it a bash

thats all i got of the error, i have to generate it again to get more ...
