Bad Firmware on 5-6TB Seagates?

I'm reading some bad feedback about the 5-6TB Seagate Internal HDDS. Something about a known firmware problem. Can anyone should some more light on this. I was ready to purchase one, but now I'm scared.

updating the firmware is simple
You can check their website for updates and release notes, download the iso and update it in a few minutes before using the drives.

Sorry guys, I made a mistake. The reviews I was reading were also piled in with older models, and the specific review I read on Amazon was about a 1TB model.

That being said, does anyone have a preference between the Seagate 6TB and the WD Red 6TB? BTW, I won't be using it with RAID or a NAS. But, I assume the WD Red will function like a normal internal without that...

I personally prefer 7200rpm drives so i'd lean towards the seagate.
It's really a matter of personal preference tho

Can you show me the 6TB Seagate 7200? The one I see on Amazon is supposedly 5900, even though it doesn't explicitly state the drive speed.

The STBD6000100 is the new version of the Barracuda, a 7200RPM drive... although Seagate doesn't actually list the RPM (that I can find) nor does Newegg.
